Why would the boy even want to stay?
If he's content
with the thin gruel on offer
we don't really want him.
If I was his agent
I'd be suing someone
for breach of promise,
or something.
Kane plays when he wants
like tonight.
A nonsense.

The price being mentioned for Ings was £25m a while back

I like Vinicius so hope we keep him for £19m (unless Kane leaves of course).

If we want him , we can offer what we want . Cannot see him being worth more than 15m in current market. Depends who else is available in the summer.

Don’t be so negative Shelfy, he’ll fully buy in to Harry Potter’s/Ralph Hasanhuttl’s 5 year plan that so many on here are lusting after.
No mate not being negative at all just saying that football being the way it is anything can and could happen.
In any case because of Covid levy would struggle to get the 400m he would want for him anyway, on the other hand does Kane want to stay at a club who are perennial losers and or nearly men probably not.
The only thing we do know is that we will still be here next season and beyond laughing at the exploits of this team and it's failings.
:) :)

Have to say that I'm having trouble reconciling your opening statement with the remainder of your post!

We keep trying to sign "backup" strikers and they're never good enough for the first team. We should be signing someone that can either play alongside Kane or have the intention to compete with him for a starting spot. Easier said that done for sure, but if you're just looking for a cheap "like-for-like" that's clearly not as good then all you are doing is bringing inferior players into the squad.

If we'd signed Ollie Watkins instead of Vinicius, would he have displaced Kane in the starting XI? Probably not, but he'd have offered a bit more pace and directness in attack and given us an extra dimension to our play so that we could mix things up our tactics a little and perhaps even play them at the same time.

Chances are there will be no european football next season, so a backup striker will get very few games.
The squad as is, would be massively bloated for a season full of gaps.

If we could sell vinicius this summer for £38m, it would be seen as a shame but great business. So there is no chance we would pay that out. We will (hopefully) be a selling club this summer and quite a few more will go.

Next season has to be the one where 3 or 4 'kids' are given a chance and some energy is put back in the side - plus to give us all some hope for the future. Mourinho's 'babes'. The academy has to start producing.

Lewandowski is pretty much the only striker at Kane’s level. I think buying him is unrealistic.

I'm trying to figure out the best way to read your posts....

In the style of a romantic poem?
To the beat of some hip hop?
or scream it to the blast of thrash metal?

Either way I love it.

I think Ollie Watkins would be pretty pissed off by now with the amount of chances he'd be getting. He's just made the England squad and pound to a penny he wouldn't have done that here. We could quite easily play Kane and Vinicius together but never do.

The very same agent that helped us sign Gedson, Doherty and Mourinho? I think his agent is more than happy to keep reaping the rewards of these kinds of deals and the ones which follow once clubs like Spurs don't take up the option to buy the player from a club that will already have replaced them and therefore need to move them on sharpish... for example see Gedson being shipped off to Galatasaray instead of being welcomed back into the fold at Benfica after failing to convince us to take up our option to buy (which I'm sure also would've earned Mr Mendes a pretty penny).

For what it's worth I think Carlos has been utterly shafted from all angles here. It's been clear to see from the interview he has done how big a deal this move was for him, especially when you consider he was very close to quitting football etc. He has done well when given a significant chance, strikers are after all judged on goals and he has got 9 thus far when called upon.

His agent has negotiated this move, the manager wanted a back up striker and has refused to use the one he wanted and from what I understand Benfica have already signed a replacement as they weren't expecting him back.

A year without very little in the way of incoming finances, a billion pound stadium to pay for, and a huge need for players in the defensive areas.

*SC members enraged we aren't willing to spend £38 million on a back up striker with only a handfull of minutes outside the EL group stages.*

Any thoughts on another season's loan Trix?

I think we all realise mate that it will be a battle for us to get top six let alone top four, so it goes with the accepted territory of being a spurs fan which is constantly chasing the dream.

No idea. What I would say is I'm very doubtful the decision has been made by Daniel this early. Or at least made public to anyone other than Jose that is. We may well need him with so many games left to go, and telling him he's not really wanted is hardly a way to keep him motivated. My opinion is it's the express putting two and two together.
