Sell no one until they have had some time with the new manager........a good coach can work wonders.
The squad is bloated as is. There have to be some sales.

Siggy, offload a CB, maybe another midfielder, etc.

It is, but I agree with steve h, dont sell players until the new manager has seen them and decides if he needs that player.

He's got better vision and range of passing than even eriksen and the best in our squad. Considering our severe lack of players like this I think he's very useful

I like Holtby but no way does he have better vision than Eriksen. How did you arrive at that conclusion?

Eriksen's biggest strength from last season was that he didn't catch the Spurs curse and kept the ability to strike a fantastic dead ball. As for through balls and the such I don't think there is much between Holtby and Eriksen. Holtby's ball for Sidwell to score at United was as good as anything I have seen from Eriksen.

because you have only seen one successful through ball from Eriksen this season (last game of the season)

Holtby evidently has better vision.

Holtby Played 20(12) - Throughballs 7 accurate from 13 attempted
Eriksen Played 27(7) - Throughballs 1 accurate from 8 attempted

Is Holtby still with us? I seem to have lost track of who is and is not in our squad these days

I like them both so don't see the point in discussing who is better than who etc as they are different types of players. However, to say Eriksen only did one through ball isn't correct, the ball he played to Sigurdsson against Norwich was one of absolute brilliance. He didn't even look at the run and played an inch perfect ball.

I for one and happy that we have the likes of Eriksen, Holtby & Lamela who I believe can all play that killer pass.

If we play those 3 behind a lone striker we won't finish in the top 8.

I would agree with you mate, would be difficult with only 4 players, but I think Poch will utilise the full 11 players he's allowed on the pitch at once... In which case with those 3 behind the striker we are almost guaranteed top 8

Last I heard from him in the papers, he was saying he hoped we'd lose.
Still bubbly and positive though. And positively hoped we'd lose.
But I've a secret admiration for those that want to bite the hand that feeds them.
So thats OK.

Poch will love Holtby because he works his bollocks off, he's a team player and his passes are incisive.

Possibly one of the most ridiculous posts I've ever read on here. Good job

I don't think it's as cut and dried as the stats suggest.

I would have thought to make comparisons of that nature, we'd also have to know who those 'through balls' were played to, and whether the forward in question managed to find the right opportunities to receive a through ball. If he didn't, we can't really blame either Eriksen or Holtby for not playing enough 'through balls'. There's no point in playing a 'through ball' if the striker can't find a space to receive it.

well most of us watch the matches so the stats are just there to back up what people see with their own eyes.

There has been numerous occasions last season where Eriksen has failed to see a decent run or he has held on to the ball way too long when there is a better option.

If we are pinning all our hopes on Holtby to drive us forward next season, then we are well and truly F**ed. If he's the real deal, why did Schalke allow him to wind down his contract without any urgency to renew. He was bought because he was cheap and available nothing more.

Because he wanted to go to an English club. But yeah, you're right, that logic is flawless. Lewandowski is terrible. I mean, why else did Dortmund let him run his contract down? Four goals against Madrid in one game? Absolute fluke

There is huge difference between Lewandowski and Holtby being Dortmund were loathed to lose him, but Schalke appeared not to be that bothered if Holtby went, they even allowed him to go 6 months early. Not sure whether you considered this as part of your Logic.

So we decided to give a player a 5 year £60k a week contract to someone because he was cheap and available?
