Interesting move, will link up with Townsend down there.
I'm not sure to make of this lad, he seems a decent football but aside from the Barcelona goal and a nice through ball I remember from pre season I have seen nothing from him to suggest he will make any more of an impact than Dean Marney.
Hopefully this loan will show us what he is made of anyway.
I don't get the comparison to Huddlestone, Livermore has never shown anything remotely similar to Huddlestones passing range to suggest they even have the same style of play.
We shall see, I hope he turns out to be the next big thing (as I hope with all of our youngsters) but personally I think he will make little impact and Ipwish and we will see little to nothing of him again in a Spurs shirt before he is sold to a mid to top Championship team and hopefully will forge a decent career for himself like Dean Marney has.
Ok I probably am being overly judgemental here, but I simply feel the quality of our squad today means only the cream of the crop of youngsters even have a chance to break through and the likes of Livermore simply do not have what it takes.
Hopefully I am wrong.
Roy Keane just on SSN says they've been waiting three or four weeks and they had to be patient so I suspect we always intended to play him in the Carling Cup and now he's free to go.
I am sort of hoping this loan along with Andros Townsend is all good grist to the mill on a Connor Wickham deal.

He might not have the passing range of Huddlestone but he is far more mobile, wins the balls plenty as he reads the game well and is not afraid to tackle. And most importantly he passes the ball forward in the middle, which we rarely see from Huddlestone.
I was really impressed by him.
He has to stay with the squad to get used playing with the rest of the players and so he can get the odd 10 games this season, sending him on loan is a bad F idea, and I am starting to hate Arry for doing so to our young players.
Those are more differences between him and Huddlestone.
My point was the poster who made a comparison between him and Huddlestone (saying he reminds them of Huddlestone at a similar age) was very much off the mark, which by your post listing further differences I assume you agree with.
He doesn't compare to Huddlestone in anyway in my opinion, completely differnt type of players.
As for wheter he can make it and wheter he is good enough? I have never seen him play in youth and reserve matches so my exposure to him is rather limited....the coaching staff obviously feel he has potential hence he has not been released so it is up to him to prove his worth on loan.
It does make sense to loan him out, because one thing our coaching staff can not teach him is experience in copetitive matches...and playing in the championship is a lot more realistic than training or half paced semi important reserve league matches.
As I have said, I have serve doubts about Livermores potential to ever break into our team...I just don't see it happening and if he fails to be a superstar at Ipswich this will only further cement my opinion.
However I know it is judegmental and wrong to be writing players off at such a young age....but then I am just a fan on an internet forum posting my opinion and assessment of the player and I have no direct influence upon him here so I see no harm in expressing what I feel will occur (whilst very much hoping that he and any other of our youngsters *GDS included* can prove me wrong)
They are going to get experience in competitive matches for shit teams playing against other shit teams??? I'd rather keep them here with the rest so at least they can learn something from top players like VDV, King, Keane, Dawson, Huddlestone, Defoe, etc and get used to playing with the rest so when a chance for them opens up they don't look lost. Having them play for lesser teams will only downgrade their skills and wont let them go any up than the level of that team. If you don't thinks so then you haven't experienced it first hand to know how detrimental that is.

I would just like to add it is important to match the player to an appropriate team for their skill sets.
Sending a midfielder to a club that doesn't play the ball through the midfield will not benefit that player's development.
A striker will do better as they will see more of the ball or a defender as they will be constantly involved but all a midfielder will do is become frustrated and run around like a head-less chicken.
Making his loan spell look unsucessful.
Well Livermore is probably our 7th/8th choice centre mid right now, unless we have a colossal injury crisis in that area then he won't be playing 10 games this season.
I assume Bostock to Hull relates to your concerns?
