We need to change the term "Spursy" to "Poolsy" as they've done the most ridiculous stuff for 3-4 years running.

They mounted a title challenge right until the point their team captain and club icon literally tripped on a fucking football. I can't...I just can't even put to words how funny that is. This guy who has literally made a career of kicking that ball and who they all put on a pedestal actually managed to trip on it to fuck them all over and out of winning their first ever PL title. Priceless.

Their manager coming out and saying we "won't do a Spurs" in reference to selling their best player and spending ~100mil on new signings, plus saying if you spend that much you should challenge for a title. They then spend more than we did (both in terms of actual outlay and netspend) and then not only finish worse than we did the previous year, but to finish behind us that season. Hilarious, having the gal to come out and say something like that and then proceed to not only match it but do even worse tops anything we've done in quite awhile.

Blame everything on the previous manager and put all their hopes into a new one who manages to maintain the same poor league record as the last one and to blow two cup finals to finish their season mid table with nothing to show for it. Brilliant.

Yeah, but it's counter weighted by the fact those threads and the subsequent posts in those threads are made by people whose opinions you didn't give a shit about for the other 99% of the season anyway.

What I will say for us is our first XI is pretty damn good, better than theirs marginally I'd say, but we've also shown how badly we cope with the loss of key players - more than most arguably

when fixture lists are taken into account, I don't reckon we'll be too far apart next year

They require a much bigger building job than we did a year ago;

New keeper, 2/3 first choice defenders. That's almost their whole defence. Even if they bought the replacements in the summer, it'd take time for them to gel into a functioning unit.

That's just simply not true. It's all about how players respond and how they fit into the manager's desired system. Before Poch came in [just about] everyone was saying how terrible Rose is, he was the most hated player in the team - now two seasons later we have people here saying that he's the best LB in the league. People said Walker was past it, that Lamela was a waste of money, that Dier couldn't play DM, that Kane was a one season wonder...I can go on.
