Liverpool v Tottenham (16:30 GMT)

Virgil van Dijk is restored to Liverpool's defence after being rested against Huddersfield on Tuesday. Joel Matip drops to the bench, with Dejan Lovren starting against a Tottenham side who gave him a torrid time at Wembley in October. Trent Alexander-Arnold replaces Joe Gomez at right-back.

Liverpool XI: Karius, Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, Lovren, Robertson, Can, Henderson, Milner, Salah, Firmino, Mane.

Substitutes: Mignolet, Moreno, Matip, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Wijnaldum, Solanke, Ings.

Tottenham name the same starting line-up that needed around 11 seconds to score against Manchester United on Wednesday. Serge Aurier and Harry Winks return to the bench after injury; transfer deadline day signing Lucas Moura is not yet ready to feature.

Tottenham XI: Lloris, Trippier, Sanchez, Vertonghen, Davies, Dier, Dembele, Eriksen, Alli, Son, Kane.

Substitutes: Vorm, Aurier, Sissoko, Wanyama, Lamela, Llorente, Winks.

Aurier can't be fit enough yet, which isn't surprising really. No rose or toby at all is a bit surprising too, although same goes for them fitness wise. I wish lucas was available tbh

It’s like the Man City game was so obvious that it’s unbelievable that Poch has even contemplated starting Trippier.

And then he’s gone and done it.

Depends what formation we're playing. He might be playing as a wing back in which case plays to his strengths more.

If it's the same setup that beat United though i'm concerned as Liverpool are a different team.

Trippier needed some support against Sane, that was on Poch. I wouldn’t have fancied Aurier to fare any better one on one

That midfield and defense doesn't look all that.

Cheers.

I love Poch but today he has shown is is too stubborn for the team’s own good.

Trippier over Aurier is an absolute joke, it’s going to be a blood bath.

Is this the aurier who's just back from injury?

I presume you'd also be complaining if aurier came in a bit rusty and say it was stupid to bring him back in such a big game?

Rose is probably injured and Aurier is coming back from injury. The WB’a aren’t a surprise. Lack of pace but no real choice plus those 2 did very well against Martial and Sanchez etc.

Their team is actually quite average on paper but their front 3 changes everything. That said, would be happy with a point.

I went to Liverpool Vs WBA last week (free ticket). A absolutely despise Liverpool so was dancing inside watching it!!

Anyway, if we can get Son 1 v 1 against Alexander-Arnold then I fancy us to cause them lots of problems, particularly if we counter them. He is definitely their weakest link.
