They've given the ball away to us more than than we've given it away to them (surprisingly)

Someone needs to tell Eriksen that Real Madrid want Pogba and not him.

The way he’s mentally checked out is a fucking disgrace. He should be following Toby’s lead.

In these big away games it is critical you stay in it and don't gift opportunities to the opponent. Still fuming at Lloris' abysmal kick out. Been doing it for years!! Shame after we made such a solid start to the game.
Not just Hugo. THREE centre backs and NOBODY within several yards of the opposing striker?! We've looked so, so poor under this system and yet Poch persists with it as we face 1 point from 5 going into our new stadium. Not good.

We've gone 4-5-1, this is how we should have started, we literally did the same thing against Dortmund.

It's like the coaches over think things and then the reality kicks in that we don't have the players to play the initial system.

Happy to see that we are able to build up from the back to the penalty box. We should try that in Allison direction tough.

Terrible clearance but still lots to do before they actually scored. A back 3 shouldn't be allowing a free header from 6 yards.

Eriksen has been shite again. Constantly giving the ball away. Been a while since he's stood out for good reasons

Agreed, not a bad half at all and everyone's playing fairly well. If Sanchez just sticks to Firmino we're 0-0 and feeling really good about it.
I don't fully disagree, but that goal was a direct result of Hugo's constant shit passing and vision from the back!

Maybe I’m being too optimistic but I really think Liverpool are there for the taking, if only we could show up

We certainly lulled them into a perfectly justified sense of security... :cautious:

But, yes, actually we stablised last 20 minutes and took some control without ever looking like we were going to create a chance. We just have zero confidence and sense of purpose attacking wise. There was a moment where Moura got the ball in a bit of space just outside the box. Sissoko was behind him - if he'd charged through Moura would have had an option but he didn't a Moura just scuffed a shot well wide as he's wont to do.

If we can get a piece of luck to help bring that belief back...

Son has got to come in for Lucas
I really dont get what poch is thinking here.
As far as I can see we've set up in such a way to give their full backs nothing to worry about defensively and allow them as much room as they like to push forward. Daft.

We are so negative, feel like this team has lost its identity.
Starting to feel the loss of dembele, at least when he got the ball he would drive with the ball and drag opposing players with him.

Another big game where our starting tactics have been completely exposed. For the first half hour our midfield got absolutely shredded.

The goal is ultra soft, a cross into the box and a free header in the six yard box in between two centre backs.

Going 5-4-1 has locked things down a bit more, but we're still playing so far off the back foot and need to find more of a foothold in the game.

Alli and Kane have been passengers so far, particularly without the ball. At least someone like Eriksen has been trying to do his defensive duties, and Moura has ran across the front and put himself about a little and done some work. The deadly duo have been lazy little fuckers and need a shot or two of adrenaline at half time.
