Should have had Sandro, Dembele Bentaleb with Chadli, Eriksen and Soldado ahead.

I understand Dembele because he looked well off the pace last week. I understand Lennon (unfortunately), none of the others like playing on the right, I understand Paulinho because he hasn't put in any effort for 6 months now, but Sandro... even if isn't 100% that gamble has to be taken and slot him straight back into the midfield. Fucking hell that looks weak.

I was worried about us defensively before I see the team but now I see our only defensive midfielder in the squad sitting on the bench I fear the worst. How the hell Bentaleb starts ahead of Sando I dont know.

We were torn apart by Southampton in the first half because we lacked commitement. We stood off them and allowed them to play. Do that today and we'll get thrashed again. I can understand Sigurdsson starting because he fights for the cause, but defensively he and Bentaleb will not protect the back 4 enough. Its going to be a long afternoon.

I'm not feeling too confident about Bentaleb and Sigurdsson. I understand the fitness concerns about Dembele, but I wish that Sandro was starting.

To make it even worse they are starting Sterling. Rodgers starts Allen when he wants a more conservative approach.

This will be fun, expect Henderson to get at least one goal. They will do exactly the same as last time. Runners from deep and nobody will follow. Sandro was a must.

As for the subs, if winks is seen good enough then surely (depending on fitness etc) that young'un beginning with L should have got the nod? With vlad too.

Bit lightweight in midfield, but not sure about the excessive complaining - very few of our players deserve to be guaranteed starters based on performances this season.

Lennon's defensive work will be needed IMO, because we'll need to a lot of defending, and well, if we're to get anything.

That's not what perplexes me, its the lack of protection in front of the back four. Sandro and Dembele both out. Can sort of understand Dembele more as he looked well of the pace last week, but Sandro?

Probably left out of XI due Dembeles performance last week ie. doesn't want to throw half-ready player to the XI again and is trying to learn from his mistakes. However even half fit Sandro might've been better option, remains to be seen.
