This is a very different game to the scum! These lot play with the kind of intensity that we did on Saturday. Lots of pace and movement, quick passing and are in good form. However, they are 4 pts behind us for a reason. They are a good side don't get me wrong but so are we.

If we can keep them quiet in the first 20 and match them up we have a chance. If we let them get on top early and get pushed back like we have in the last few games against them it will be a very long night.

If both teams press each other will that result in all 22 players just in the centre circle doing nothing but pressing?

Interesting thought if both teams simultaneously are without possession...I'll wait and see how that develops!!

If Liverpool press like they did at White Hart Lane, I'm hoping we have gained the ability and confidence to play quicker one-touch football to counteract it this time.

Just my ramblings of course...

That means they'll all be in the bloody starting lineup. Not getting my hopes up.

I think Lucas is the one who will most likely be missing. He went off after 15 minutes and is having a scan on this thigh = which he's had problems with previously. He'd be a significant loss as well, their upturn in results/performances has coincided with him coming back into the side.

Expect the other two to start all day long.

It'll be interesting to see how we cope with the 3-4-3-thing they've been doing. Reckon both Coutinho and Sterling will start with Sturridge in the middle, since he didn't start against Everton.

Liverpool did seem a bit leggy in the later stages of the Merseyside derby, so maybe that can work in our favour. If it's tied at the 60 minute mark, I fancy our chances.

He'd be a big miss for them - really fancy us to be able to bully their midfield with him missing.

Definitely a game for Chadli imo. We need to defend and pressurise them from the front.

That reason is Daniel Sturriidge being injured for nearly 6 months, how would we cope with Kane out injured for 6 months?
A lot of our supporters would be on suicide watch I think.

The thing about waiting on significant injury news is not always as clear as you'd think. Couthinho and Sterling both noticeably tired in the derby, as well picking up slight knocks, so even if they do play on Tuesday night they probably won't be 100% right at it.

I honestly think this is a good time to be playing them, as its their third game in 6 days and that could well show.

I really dislike this club and their fans. Arrogant bunch of Scousers. I really really hope we beat these fools.

Absolutely cannot stand this lot. Dreading the game a bit because I want us to win soooo badly, or even avoid defeat but a win would be absolutely massive going forward. COYS!

I think we need to get something out of this game. Very tough game though, Liverpool's game has caused us problems over the last couple of years and I can see that happening again. We really need to win the midfield again in this game, do we add an extra body in their or freshen things up personnel wise?

I wouldn't change anything. I think the fact that its their third game in six days gives us an edge. Their key players looked jaded in the derby as well.

First 20 minutes will be critical, because they'll look to really hurt us in that opening period. The longer it stays 0-0 the more I think we'll have a chance of winning it late on.

A draw would be a very decent result though, off the back of the NLD.

Slightly off topic but I note that BT Sport have this game plus the West Ham game and the Europa league ties.

Fucketty fuck.

I moved house just before Christmas and haven't got BT Sport, so have had to go down the local pub for BT Games. Only watched the 2 derbies down there, and they haven't gone too badly...

I'll be there in the same seat come Tuesday night!

I think it could be a rear guard action by us, if that happens we'll lose because the defence is leaky.

I hope not. We do need to be a bit cannier and less aggressive for this one though or we'll get exploited on the counter.

My only change would be to tell Dembele to drop a bit in the opening 20 minutes or so to make it more of a 4-3-3. We just need to make sure we control that midfield area as much as possible and stop them playing their game as much as possible.

Once we've done that, then we can push on and start to take the game to them.

Agree though, a draw would be an excellent result.

This will be a very tough game. Some of the players looked a bit spent at the end of the NLD, and it will be incredibly tough to produce a performance like that again.

With Liverpool being in good form and at home, this could be a long night, but if we play like we did against Arsenal, and they play the way they did against Everton, then we'll absolutely smash them.

Can't see us producing a performance like that Saturday away to pool anyway but we have a few players we should be able to rotate in without too much impact.
