Would have certainly favoured him to come on instead of Paulhino. He's laid back fairy style isn't suited to the premier league. He'd do well in Spain

I just think Holtby is similar to Lamela when chasing and closing down players, loads of energy. Never understood why he doesn't figure but some others who clearly never will have that to their game are making the squad.

This game shows we don't have the depth. While Liverpool can pull the likes of Lallana and Balotteli off the bench, we used Soldado and Paulinho, who we should have gotten rid months ago. That was the difference. Also, Rose should be sub at half time.

"Especially when there is another Spurs player right in front of the attacker (Verts - kind of stood there and looked bemused by why Rose even got involved) - I just don't get Danny Rose."

I think Rose has been very good but he's only good when he's 100% on his game. If tired he gets sloppy. That's why having Davies to come in has helped him because he hadn't had to be up for every game we play. With hindsight we should have brought Davies in today.

Just watched the replay of Pool's last goal, The defense on that play was a shamble. Two men on the ball carrier but no pressure on the ball at all, which leaves Lallana totally free to receive the ball. And then somehow Balotelli goes free from his marker even though his movement isn't all that great. The team defense collapsed at the very bad moment.

Ballotelli didn't get free from his marker, watch the slow replay you will see that the eyetie pulled Diers shirt which then put him on the back foot so he couldn't take off.

Or at half time. I can understand starting him but by half time it was clear he was having a shocker, plus the fresh legs would have been useful. Rose has improved this season but unfortunately when he's bad he's very very bad.

We need to buy a pacy direct two footed winger as it appears poch doesnt trust townsend much. It adds some variety to our attack. If we had one on the left today Ibe would have been pinned back and less effective today. Hell......none of our players could half replicate how Ibe was tormenting our left side.

Yeah possibly, but I think with the way the game was being played it's not something that would have greatly changed it, we may have gotten one or possibly two more opportunities from having more pace being brough on in those periods but even that may be pushing it when I try to envision it. From the start of the match I fully agree though, they were there for the taking as well and pace out wide could have seen us have more success for sure. Am not gonna lie I still think there was a place for Lennon in the squad but oh well, I trust Poch's decisions at the moment.

Most of them, yes, but sometimes I do wish he had more respect for pace and dynamic players. I can't really fault him as it's getting results for the most part and we've clearly improved, but sometimes as though he does seem a bit too hung up on his concept of how the game should be played from each position and needs to be more open to interpretations with other possibilities rather than adhering to his plan.

I agree that the game was out of hand there at the end. But IMO I just can't help but wonder how much of it was due to our more forward options being tired and the fact Liverpool was allowed to collapse because we had no stretch or aggression. We don't have one player who can look at a box from 45 degrees directly out from the corner, and take players on directly and successfully consistently to at least run them out of position, and it costs us. Liverpool very much does have these things, and that's how they hurt us today as over time the lactic acid buildup will overcome even talent.

No worries at all, was just wondering if you didn't agree with the positive assessment of his performance.

I do a dislike at least once a week by mistake, when I get even a semi I have to stand to far away from the lappy or IPad.

I was pleased with our all round performance tonight but a partisan crowd combined with a phartyman ref it was never to be

Exactly. Our system makes it too east for opposing wingers to take on our fullbacks one-on-one and we're too easy to defend against ourselves. We have quality players to overcome, but we don't play consistently enough on the ground to make ourselves accomplish our ambitions.

At 2-2 I had the same feeling as when we played City in the 11/12 season. The feeling that a win could potentially make us a top four team. Unfortunately the same thing happened - we didn't take our chances going forward, and Balloeffingtelli robbed us at the end. Gutting and very disappointing to lose like that, when we looked settled at 2-2 and could have really entered the top four race. Not an undeserved win for them, seeing as we gave away the ball too much and struggled to put the decisive passes together in the final third, but even a draw would have been a great result.

Beaten horse I know but still utterly bemused by the choice to bring on, of all players, Paulinho. Felt the same of every other game he's been subbed in on recently. I don't like vilifying any of our players but he offers so very little.

Though it may have been perceived as tactically negative I can't help but feel that things may have gone far differently has Stambo been brought on instead. He at least has energy and an actual presence.

Love Poch. Was my first choice from the moment AVB left and I believe in him hugely. Just don't get this Paulinho thing. Must be showing a lot more than what we're seeing in training I guess...?

It's try that their subs won it for them, but I disagree that we lack depth. Paulinho and Soldado have been just about as poor as Lallana and Ballo. They just happened to make one good move after stretching our defence.
By the way, taking off Eriksen in the 81th minute even when he is poor has to be a mistake based on his stats this season.

In all honesty it was a strange sort of game. A draw was fair though but we gifted them the three points in the end, which is very frustrating and could be significant come the end of the season - a draw, and I don't think they would of passed us in the table.

Disappointed after the way we played against Arsenal and perhaps some changes would of helped - hindsight and all.

No meltdowns needed, anyone thinking of throwing their toys out of the pram needs to remember how young our side is. You can't have it great all the time, the likes of Bentelab, Mason, Dier and even Kane are still learning at this level so mistakes will happen. We competed and were excellent again in spells but they made less mistakes than us and created the better chances overall. On to the next one.
