I don't think you can blame Poch for that. At the time it made sense. There were too many players on yellow.

Although it was interesting to see the difference Mason makes. He really gives our play energy and speed. We definitely lost that when Paulinho came on but then I thought we needed that to calm things down and see out the game. Didn't work obviously but we could have lost too without that substitution. The problem was we dropped a level as a team in the final 15 minutes - that was because of tired legs.

In hindsight guess players where spent from the derby game and it took its toll. Wise choice probally would been put Stambouli on for Lamela and not Townsends biggest fan but was thinking would added maybe some pace to game. Anyways on another day we don't go asleep for Balotelli goal and we get a draw.

It blatant obvious we need major reinforcements in them key area's.Aswell as Where crying out for a quality striker to partner Kane but looks like that ship has sailed. Its awesome though how far our team has come on though and can't let one defeat take shine off our progress to date.COYS!

This game shows we don't have the depth. While Liverpool can pull the likes of Lallana and Balotteli off the bench, we used Soldado and Paulinho, who we should have gotten rid months ago. That was the difference. Also, Rose should be sub at half time.

Lallana i will give you but Baloteli is plain crap of the highest order. He's scored one PL goal since arriving at Anfield and should strike as much fear into a defence at Soldado.

Rose is another matter entirely and defends like a left winger, and after Saturday it's bloody obvious that as much effort as he may well put in going forward he will forever be a winger played out of position. That is why team after team target his side of the pitch.

Plenty more wins and losses to come for all challenging top 4. Let's try and learn something from this and get back to winning ways. Is I hate Liverpool though

played an ok game, but long time since i have seen so many mistakes.

the result is hard to take, a point was well deserved!!
I think your reaction is close to the truth. I thought we were off the pace today, maybe the big game and big performance of the weekend took it's toll. If that is so then this is a something we will have to be able to do if we want to advance. I thought we would get a draw but certainly not at our best. Guess I can take this blip since I never considered more than four points as realistic from these last two games.

Now let's get over it and push on to cup glory and fourth place

Rose is our most infuriating player for me.

He is often absolutely brilliant. And occasionally totally useless, verging on a liability.

I can't decide whether we should persevere with him.

Last 20 minutes, we looked shattered. I'm disappointed losing to that lot, but it was Liverpool away, no shame I suppose. We could just as easily have won it. We were never going to win every single game for the rest of eternity with sexy, Arsenal thumping quality. Let the defeat not detract from the fact we are an extremely good team, and we are getting better. We beat Chelsea and Arsenal, both are better than Pool... it's just one of those things in football.
A nice rest for the lads, they've deserved it. COYS!

Thought were poor tonight and made too many mistakes to get anything from the game. But coming from Belfast where all my mates and brother are bin dippers I'm well fucked off with tonight's result.

As always on SC there tends to be a scapegoat for poor performances and once again tonight Danny Rose had a mare. I reckon he is undoubtedly a decent enough squad player but for a club like ourselves to fork out 11m (Siggi + 5 supposedly) on a player that is truly shocking

Good game.

We played well. Lots of unforced errors cost us. I felt the ref was a ****. Just my opinion though.

If we can keep this tempo up then there won't be many teams that will live with us.

Edit. I think the pitch did for our passing play. I don't think for a second it was coincidence that they kicked away from the Kop second half (almost unheard of) because the box that end was a bog.

I think he's a top quality footballer but not a top quality left back. Player without a position

Looked tired. Also don't think our tactics were quite right. Dembele was excellent holding the ball up but that's more useful when teams park the bus and congest the hole with tackling midfielders. The game was always going to be open, we needed more forward movement from Dembele who was only trying to come short and hold the ball up/lay it off. Eriksen would have been quieter but far more dangerous there, running off Kane. We should have congested the midfield a little more and played with more genuine pace and width. In fact we were crying out for pace and if Poch doesn't trust Townsend I'm a bit worried about where it will come from.

Thought our pressing was really off the beat first half but improved greatly second. Lamela was awesome chasing down everything and unlucky not to score. The biggest disappointment were Mason and Bentaleb who kept giving the ball away unnecessarily, sometimes in suicidal manner. Rose was Rose but I thought neither Dier or Vertonghen looked composed tonight. Verts let Sturridge take down way too many long ball unchallenged. Walker seemed ill or something, never turned up in the first half.

Lots of positives from that and I think our errors were due to mental tiredness and Liverpools pressing so can be fixed with a bit of recovery and a full weeks training. Looking at the fixtures I don't see why we shouldn't be confident going into every remaining game, Utd away will be tricky but we know we can win there and I fancy us to beat City at home this time. Obviously we won't win every game but we've been written off and I think we can pick up more points than the media and fans expect.

I'm glad we put up a fight tonight though, I'm still walking on air from the Arsenal win but if we'd been spanked 3-0 tonight I'd be feeling much worse. We'll beat the scousers next time :finger:

Rose is a winger who cannot cross properly. He's extremely poor in weighting his kicks.
