If Real go for Falcao (not sure if they would, but you never know what with the Di Maria money burning a hole in their back pockets), I can genuinely see Arsenal going for Benzema.
Cavani, not a chance.

Benzema stayed at the club when in competition with Higuain. I'm sure he wouldn't jump ship so quickly even if Falcao came in.
Then there would also be the issue with Benzema's wages (they couldn't afford khedira's)
Arsenal have Sanogo and Campbell as cover they should be able to cope plus Alexis can play central and Walcott back in a few weeks... I think Wenger will not panic buy..
Spurs however need an extra striker as cover and to give more options.. Wonder if Poch would consider turning Chadli into a centre forward he has all the attributes for it..

Either that or go for J-Rod/Welbeck as a hybrid striker. Poch's system is clearly a lone striker affair so Adebayor/Soldado/Kane should be more than adequate.

Agreed, don't think this Remy deal is last minute from Chelsea. They've obviously known Torres is going for a while now, Mourinho probably wanted to get rid of him last year, so they must've had Remy lined up as a cheap 3rd choice. If we'd have gone in for him seriously they'd have most likely come in and gazumped us again.
This deal makes me think of Demba Ba all over again. A striker who was banging in goals for smaller clubs and being given the chance to play for one of the big boys as a backup choice. It's exactly what Chelsea need, a player who is too good to play for a weak side like QPR, but not good enough to start for them and Remy himself is probably going for the same reason as Ba. You're in a side with the qualities to win things but you know you'll not get many games, but are happy to play a bit part and pick up huge wages in the meantime.
