This sounds like a dodgy online dataing ad and is almost as depressing but....

I want to go to more games this year, when I was at uni I used to go up to the lane 4 or 5 times a year (I know, part time fan and all that rubbish) but, getting married and growing up (33 now) has meant that the group I used to go up with have now all got kids and none of us really go anymore (think I've only been once each year for the past four years).

I'm now at the point where my wife hates getting dragged along for my yearly trip (reason for divorce I know), I haven't got anybody to go up with (violins at the ready) and I've tried going on my own once before (very strange / uncomfortable experience :bag:).

I can't be the only one in this kind of position so hence the pathetic thread. Thinking there are a few different ways this can go.
  • Group of season ticket holders where one of the group can't make it and are happy for me to tag along (obv pay the ticket price like an SC version of Stub Hub)
  • Group of Bronze/Lillywhite members who buy a block of tickets in bulk and meet up before the game
  • Random person in same situation who likes a bit of banter and Spurs chat

Not looking at an every game type thing as other comitments mean I can prob only make a few games but want to make an effort to go more often this year.

When I first came down to London, I didn't know anyone other than work colleagues. I just took myself along to a game at the first opportunity... you soon get chatting/cheering/moaning on about Bale on the left/Levy/Sherwood (delete as applicable) or something with your fellow yids around you before too long.

Where abouts in Kent are you?

I've moved out to Ashford and me and a mate from down here are both looking to go more often this season at least more than the once we did last season!

he is about the only Spurs fans i know, so i know how difficult it is to get mates to go to games, my mrs aint interested in either (she's happy to be dropped off at Stratford and do shopping though!)

i think a lot of other fans meet up in pubs before games though?

Used to live near Ashford in Lenham but I'm up in Sittingbourne now (train line goes through Stratford though so be easy enough to jump off and jump on again) (y)

Fucking hell, I thought I'd written that when I was drunk and forgot about it.
Are you a member?
All my spurs fan friends Are too tight to join ergo can't ever get tickets and I won't forego my early buying privilege hoping there's tickets left when I can get one for them.

Question: what if everyone on here's a right ****?

Wouldn't you then be better off going alone?

In the same boat as you, used to have a season ticket but only been a few games in the last few years and looking to go more games home and away, and also from Sittingbourne.

Friends? (as long as this isn't a date rape thing)

I have to say folks, I went to around 10 games last season on my jack Jones and had no problem with it.
I think I'm quite at home with myself though. I can happily go to the cinema alone or sit in a MacDonald alone.

I always prefer to go myself. Less hassle really, or maybe because all my friends are goons.

In the same boat - was living in Angel with a couple of season tickets, but now out in Faversham.........oh, and got to agree, with the pykie Sittingbourne remark - my god, what posessed you to move there???

Fortunately I have a lot of spurs mates over in Canterbury, so normally head over there when I can't get to a match.

btw did you know last year Sittingbourne was officially the fattest town in the UK? Nothing against the more rotund demeanour, but my golly gosh walking through that naff shopping centre is like pinball in a giant inflatable sumo suit!
