There will be managers available in the summer Prandelli probably wont renew (tactically excellent but not 100% sure he is a winner) Spalleti is available now (both of the above, question marks over english).

We just have to concede (well Levy does) that TS is not up to the job.

He's never won a trophy with any of the 7 clubs he's been with.

Good manager no doubt, done a great job with the Italian national team but I wouldn't call him excellent.

He is a good manager who spend most of his time working with lesser squads, did a great job with Hellas Verona and then of course his success with Fiorentina despite the match fixing fiasco that cost the club. So he was having success in Italy with teams not named Juventus or hailing from Milan which is pretty impressive.

I agree he may not be a excellent manager but he sure looks like he is on the right path to become one.

I honestly think LVG is our last hope of being a top 4 side. Players will listen to whatever he has to say and I think if we bring him in players will think twice about wanting out this summer
If the players don't listen to LVG, then they wont listen to anyone.

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

I agree, i said a facet of his was excellent, he is able to setup multiple systems and he is not scared to change early (in the confeds he pulled of players after 30 mins and changed formations) that is undeniable and excellent ability, Italy do not have the best of squads (neither of his clubs had, bar maybe Roma need to see that squad at the time to know).

Is he a winner? i am not sure, LVG is definitely that but not sure the hardline approach would work for our bunch of softies.

Would people be willing to be patient with LVG? If we were not pushing up trees next season and say, mid table, would we see a LvG debate thread or is it a case of, bear with him, good things take time?

I'd say on a forum with loads of different people on it you would have wide range of opinions.

Prandelli smells a bit like Ramos to me.

Had success with a team that wasn't any of the elite teams whilst having also done a good job at some lower level teams. Plus he doesn't speak English.

Van Gaal is what we need. Do the deal Levy!

And so it start - groundhog day begins. Reminds me of Terry Neill's pending arrival in the early 70's.........

Short of Guardiola, I can't think of any appointment that would be greeted with unanimous cheer but I just wonder whether we're ever fated to see longevity in the managerial hot seat at WHL.

Not under Levy and the fans will not give van Gaal time if he comes either

What do you think?
If we get decent attractive football then I think he'll get time regardless of how well we're doing. If we're not playing particularly well or getting results then we'll start getting rumbles.

Whether we, the fans, would be patient with him is largely irrelevant. The question is would Levy be patient with him, and I would imagine the answer would be a resounding no.

We played great football under Redknapp, had 3 genuine world class players in the team, finished 4th twice in 3 seasons and still most fans wanted him out

I think we need to stop thinking in these terms to actually progress, much like Liverpool had to. It needs to be about rebuilding as a good team before anything else, which means any kind of realistic top 4 challenge would be much further away (I mean like 2-3 seasons, not just a half or one) but would mean we could actually create a sustainable position where we don't rely on one or two supremely talented individuals to do all of the hard work.

LVG cant come quick enough..the only man for the job. The spursy thing to do would would be to loose out on him.

No the Tottenham way would be to hire him, promise him that the players HE wants come in, the players HE wants to go leave and that there would be no boardroom interference

Then we'd sell our best players, keep the bang average ones we overspent on, sign a few more bang average players on transfer deadline day then blame van Gaal when he isn't getting the results you want

I bet plenty regret it now. I certainly do.
