You're looking at it the wrong way...they would be playing for their place at the club under LVG.

They would know he'd be watching the rest of the season with a beady eye.
And if they fail to measure up what happens? Another season of transition selling those players and bringing in new ones?

That's what will happen anyway Mullers, whether we like it or not next season will be transitional, hopefully for Levy too, he can transition his fingers the fuck away from any transfer decisions.

Well if we get rid of Baldini, I suspect Levy will be involved in transfer decisions, all he has to do is bullshit LVG then take the rug from under him like he did with AVB.

Last chance saloon for Levy, if he pulls that shit with Van Gaal then it will be a step too far, DL will know it too, get the players Van Gaal wants within budget or pack up and fuck off as far as i am concerned.

Then Spurs will never change, may as well hire the milkman to manage the team.

We don't have the budget to challenge the top sides, it's as simple as that. Levy has done a pretty good job at keeping us competitive whilst generally breaking even with transfer fees and not paying top level wages.

If we want to challenge, we need a sugar daddy or, long term, a new stadium. As things stand we'd need to uncover 3 more Bales in order to afford the kind of players we'd need to take us up to the top.

The question is, in the meantime are we gonna try or not? Might as well try, so get in the best manager possible. That seems to be LVG.

I think most of this is pretty obvious, my point was we need players that fit how Van Gaal wants to play, not what players Levy gets offered on a deal by some agent whispering in his ear.

I have never doubted how Levy runs the club as a whole, football decisions aside.
If Van Gaal comes then DL MUST stay the fuck away from transfers. Simples. With a few players in and out and some decent coaching we should do well, to a man our current squad is under performing, but some need weeding out, Van Gaal is that man.

Levy will negotiate the deals if Baldini is off, and if that's the case then LVG will end up disappointed on deadline day when the one player he really wanted slips through his fingers at the last moment.

We are now at the point where DL needs to listen to someone, Van Gaal is that man, if DL won't listen then don't hire him.

LVG will not be dictated to with transfers. If tht happens he will resign end of. He isn't a character to take any BS. DL may try but he will lose his manager very quickly am afraid.

Basically the thing that appeals to me about LVG is that if Levy tried to offer him Clint Dempsey late on in a window after missing out on other targets, LVG would tell him where to stick it along with a look that could whither away a coastline.

The worry would be then that we hire him and he walks after the first window!

Van Gaal needs to be brought in for the press conferences alone. They will be priceless.

And I say that in spite of Sherwood scoring points with his comments /action at Chelsea.

I guess LVG knows all about Levy and his transfer dealings and will not join unless he gets written assurances included in his contract. Then if he joins and Levy fucks him over with transfer dealings he will take Spurs to the cleaners.
