I definitely think a 'gap year' idea would be a winner. For one year only, allow someone high in the queue to take your ticket to fulfill their needs while also adding to their points. At the end of the year, you get your seat back, they get a year of football they wouldn't previously have got and haven't lost out on any membership points. If you don't want the seat back after a season then they've settled in already. Might seem a bit of an odd idea but I've been a regular Spurs goer ever since I got my first paypacket as a teen and it'd be nice just for one year not to dent my salary now I'm in my mid-thirties.

So what you are suggesting as a season ticket holder you should be able to take something similar to a career break in the workplace a 'Season Ticket Break' ?? Dont most season ticket holders do that anyway & just loan out their passes when they dont go ??

An official sabbatical if you like. Sure, it can be done unofficially, but why not officially in a manner that would be fair to non-matchgoers who are on the official waiting list?

Maybe if a season ticket holder cannot afford to go so reguarly they should just forfeit there seat for a membership where they just pick & choose when they can afford to go rather than missing out a whole season ?? There should be a system in place where you can downgrade from season ticket to membership without losing the loyalty points you would of scored had you been a member too, surely its not the end of the world if you dont get to those away games anymore yet still get to see most home games ?? There are many people out there that talk about when they used to be a season ticket holder but cant do it anymoe for whatever reason etc ..

What about when a season ticket holder passes there seat on to another family member or friend if they dont go anymore or in the instance of death ?? Is that right too ?? I was talking to this guy once up at the Lane & he was telling me the seat i was sat in used to belong to his friend that passed away & now is his sons, is that right bypassing the ST Waiting List just because your dad used to sit there ?? I know some people might feel quite strongly about this, but in modern times these seats should probably just go up for grabs, but like i said its probably quite a sensitive topic.

I have a few mates who have STs next to each other and have gone for over 10 seasons now. They have mates who know each other who all want to go to Tottenham a few times a season and have agreed for next season that if they pay £240 before the season they will be given tickets to:

Man Utd, Liverpool, Stoke, Sunderland, Promoted Champions + First Cup game.

They have done this as their ST has gone up in price significantly over the past few seasons and they can’t afford to go to all the games at the prices now.

I also have a couple of mates who have sold their season ticket for this season to a mate as they can’t afford it for the one season.

I reckon this goes on a lot, which is why you don’t see a huge amount of new ST holders. All of you bronze members, how many places have you moved up in the past 3 seasons? My mate doesn’t think he moved at all last season!

The only way to get around this is to add photo ID to STs. Piss the fans off even more as you will be forced to sell your ticket for a loss on the ticket exchange when you have mates who want to go!

In fairness I can see where some are coming from, but I've been to a load of games where our best players on the pitch were Jose Domingues, or Korsten. I sat through games where we boasted Paolo Tramezzani and Nicola Berti.
I went through the Holsten years, the Thompson years and parts of the Mansion years. But a change in circumstances meant I couldn't make most home games.

Loyalty can't be measured on recent years, but on the long term.

Either way, can't please them all.........

When I first got my season ticket 6 or 7 years ago I could afford to go to away games quite regularly, now I'm a student I have to scrimp and save just to keep my season ticket each year. That is pretty loyal if you ask me, but thanks for the reward Spurs.

I think that each year past the previous five, points should be halved.

Personally I'll be dropping a fair few points, despite being a gold ST holder, (not as many as others) so from a selfish point of view I'm not best pleased.

That said, games like Watford away, Real Madrid away, I was the only one of my group that had sufficient points to get a ticket and whilst I met up with other people I knew, it would have been nice if some of the other people I normally apply with could have been there.

So, I'm mixed as to how I feel about this change.

There are many good points raised here for and against but at least if you are a ST holder you are in the driving seat as you have priority over members and have that ST. I have been on a waiting list since pre the One Hotspur membership and will be until the new Stadium is built. I do go to away games despite having to fly to England and have amassed almost 400 loyalty points since getting a membership. I know several ST's who only attend a quarter of the home games and sell the rest on, is that loyalty just because they pay up with a lump some every summer but hardly go????? I have heard so many stories of ST's selling their seat for a year or so which is also wrong and preventing members from finally getting their hands on a ST and hence why many have said that they have hardly moved on the waiting list! Many members who regularly attend away games then resort to tapping up ST's with large numbers of points to get to European games or fixtures such as Arsenal away as their only hope of seeing such fixtures. Loyalty points from away fixtures should also be transferable between memberships and ST's and not lost as this is often where the most loyal fans are found, travelling around the country to support our beloved Tottenham!

Well, that's some of my thoughts on the subject.

I do agree with that.

Yes home match loyalty points shouldn't be transferred as ST holders don't get them for that, but away and cup games should be.

I think the only way to do it is to go through your account history and add up all the points you've got over the last 4 years.

As an aide to supporters wishing to apply for away matches, and to assess the potential for their access to tickets, we will also be publishing a Loyalty Point Table on the Club website from the start of next season. There will be separate tables for Season Ticket Holders, Bronze and Lilywhite Members and will show how many supporters there are in different loyalty point brackets.

I have 121 loyalty points. Haven't been a member for 2 years but started going five years ago.

Do you know if they will still have the policy of deleting your loyalty points when you stop becoming a member?

I am sure last summer the club said if you didnt renew your membership by a certain date all loyalty points would be lost. Try logging into your account & find out.

So loyal supporters who were paying up and watching the garbage served up in the 90's and early 00's are getting screwed up for the JCL's..... Our loud and passionate away support is now gonna get diluted by the suits, cheers THFC.....
Me included I was a member from 2002 to 2007 and got 70 ish loyalty points, I had to give up my memberships as flights were getting more expensive!
