Xg isn't fucking meaningless God sake.

You literally contradicted yourself by saying the Yates chances was right after we missed a penalty and could have changed the game lol. You completely disregard that we should have been 2 up before that chance even came into existence.

Your making such a meaningless point.
not at all but touche we weren't two up and you illustrate exactly what I am saying the penalty miss has an effect on the game it lifts the opposition a goal immediately after that changes the momentum in the game even further who knows what happens after but the momentum which is huge in football matches changes - that's why xg without any context means nothing its a bean counter stat
without context as to when things happen in a football match the stat is irrelevant - chances happen in a game xg looks at them but without any context to anything else

I don’t disagree with much of what you say, apart from when some teams come to play at WHL and park the bus and essentially attempt to completely nullify our counter attack and hope for a point/draw. Counter attacking if fine if the opposition actually attack. We could use a bit of an option for the times when this happens, there were a few games like this last season which were an absolute struggle for us.
Agree. The obvious change would be to play a 4-2-4 with two solid CMs and a more solid back 4 allowing Richarlison, Son, Kane and Kulusevski to absolutely pull any defence to bits.

But I can't see Conte doing that.

If he does play tomorrow then we need Richarlison to test that petulance. Could be one of those Nunez moments for him early on.

Based on his brief 20 mins tonight I can only remember him coming on and then nothing.
Gonna take time for him to settle in to the PL which is physical and fast unlike the french league.
That Aurilas knows what he is doing 60m euro looks way over the top.

Could and should have scored when Emerson (wham player) let it go but not gonna lie it made me laugh when he missed the ball

Can't write someone off after a 20 minute sub appearance for their debut.

Let's see what's he's about after 10 appearances and then decide if lyon played a blinder or not.

Some of Our own fans were writing off Deki after two 15min appearances so I’d hold off on delivering a verdict yet

Hard to tell if he would suit our formation. Comes across as someone who would suit a midfield 3.

not being particular about Paqueta but having another option with a player who can drift into the midfield and offer an option of ball to feet would give us some different which in games like last night would have been really useful

People get a bit carried away with the so called number 10 role it doesn't have to be a spare man who doesn't work hard it could very easily have been a wider play who comes off the line into midfield who can link play up - Kulusevski does it to a degree but is more effective moving with the ball higher up the pitch and Son is not that type of player at all - it leaves us with a big gap and in games like last night it gives you a different option otherwise we end us as we are all a bit samey - hard to beat but lacking a bit of inspiration from anyone else bar the front 3
