Yeah I reckon he'll absolutely tear it up at Liverpool but I'm not convinced he was a natural fit for our system/squad under Conte.
I think he would have managed. He's got that x-factor and a sharp mind.
Even yesterday while Colombia were abject, and he wasn't much better, he could of equalised with a brilliant bit of skill.
Ball came to him in a crowded box. Most would of hit it straight away, but he flicked it over the first defenders foot clearing one obstacle, and making the chance a wee bit easier. He fucked it up in the end, but the speed of thought, and the calmness under pressure impressed me.

He will probably smash it there. The system and platform Klopp has instilled at Liverpool makes it easier for players to slot in easily and show their best form.

The good thing is Conte should do the same thing for us, his system and platform should allow new signings to bed in quickly and show their best stuff.

Why are people still wittering on about a player we (hardly surprisingly) missed out on? Have you all been turned by Colin Robinson?

That's what really caught the world's attention. All the goals were class. I hope he's shit, and I could definitely see his goal scoring curtailed in the prem, BUT I think he's got too much to his overall game to be a complete flop unfortunately. Hopefully I'm wrong and the Portuguese league has embellished his actual skills.
So many players go for big fees off the back of a handful of strong performances at a major international tournament. I'd say only a minority live up to expectations.

Disappointing we didn't get him but just shows Cl is imperative its a bigger draw than winning domestic cups probably

He's a good player. But for what it's worth, I'm hoping we plan to move away from the 3-4-3 to Conte's (previously) preferred 3-5-2 this summer. There are definitely players in Diaz's price range that are more suited to a front 2 than him.

Bidding on Diaz does suggest to me we might be planning to prioritize the 3-4-3 beyond this summer, especially considering the amount of natural wingers we already had in the squad. However, potentially missing out on him could be a catalyst in our decision to focus on developing the squad for a 3-5-2. We'll see in time I guess..

We should all take comfort in remembering that Vinicius was top scorer and a goal scoring machine in the Portuguese league.. not all players make the transition well

With the quality of service the forwards get at Liverpool I'd be shocked if he doesn't bang in some goals. Will be tough for him to oust Mane from the first XI though.

Salah, Mane and Firmino will only have 1 year left on their contracts in the summer.

If one (or all) of them leave then Diaz moves into the first XI automatically.

They'd be mad not to pin down Salah. He's asking for stupid money, but he's their talisman and would be absolutely impossible to replace (a bit like Kane at Spurs).

Jota has effectively replaced Firmino this season, though, while Mane's form tailed off a bit. I think they could probably afford to lose those 1 or both of those 2 and play a first choice front 3 of Diaz Jota Salah going forward, with a couple of new signings coming in to provide support.

The Salah situation is interesting.

I would say every club in the world would be more than happy to have him, so in some part it's up to him where he ends up.

Tbh, City should go in for him
