Not even half, they said expecting 20,000 or so and it's 90,000 stadium I think

There's been a boycott I think as they had to stop their domestic season for this game so the fans aren't happy. It's the reason the stadium is pretty empty.

Whoever we're playing against, the anticipation Carroll shows and how he reads the game so well would work against stronger opposition. It can't be taught, he just has it naturally.

A few of them aren't really at the races, particularly defensively, so that's at least providing a contest for the spectators and the natives.

Obviously hard to take much from it, but good to see Carroll has been busy so far and he obviously sees this as a chance to impress. The second, no matter what standard of football, was a lovely goal.

Dare I say, a little arsenal-esque play from Carroll...

No I don't dare, I take it back, please don't lynch me!

Was great to see though seriously, opening up a congested defence so easily.

He's hard to peg where he fits in this system.

Needs to be more of a goal threat himself if he plays in the 3 behind the striker or needs to be better defensively in the CM 2.

As many have said before he's a dream fit in a CM3, but we're simply not going to run that.

He has impressed me a lot behind Kane today and while ideally we would like our no.10 to score goals if he is creating it's not really a problem. Also who's to say he won't score goals from there he hasn't played there enough for any team. He has occasionally for Eng u21s I think and picked up a goal, plus he has the potential as I think he used to score some in the academy though I never saw it personally.

Without meaning to come across rude or even patronising but Wrt not being defensively sound enough for a CM 2 i think that is a common myth bandied about, perpetuated by the 'little Tommy Carroll' nickname especially by people that don't watch him play, and I think can influence those that do.

He has played CM2 for Eng u21s and looked good and not been overrun. Also I beleive there were stats posted in his thread that shows that his defensive game has improved greatly. I know this won't be music to some people's ears as they don't even rate Mason's defensive work, but his is no worse than Mason's I believe. I think his passing is the best in our squad/team and it would be very short sighted to not at least try him for one season. We have nothing to lose. There were rumours we were looking at JWP. What for just try TC out, we're not looking to buy a rangy passer anyway so if he doesn't work out we're not losing anything and still get a feee.

He just needs to add physicality to his game, I don't think he is strong enough or tenacious enough to play in a midfield 2. Mason is slight but he likes to put himself about and get tackles in. Carroll is very good at keeping the ball moving though, similar to modric in that respect.

20,000 still quite a lot, would definitely not expect 90,000. Wouldn't even expect 50,000 to be honest

I can echo everyone saying Tom Carroll has looked good and been involved in almost everything positive for us.

Their striker or winger or whoever he is is similar to Townsend in that he seems to have nice pace and a hard shot on him, but has consistently made questionable decisions.

Water is wet, but Eriksen ought to be more aggressive. Maybe not in an end of season friendly, but he can skin his marker over and over again.

I'd like to see Onomah for Winks and bring in Lamela for Townsend at minimum.

for the people poo pooing Carol because it's "Just malaysia" why don't you focus on how he works and interacts with his team mates.

Regardless of who the oppo is that's what we should be looking at.
