We basically have no midfield. It's truly amazing to watch.

Doesn't matter how good our front line is, if they never see the ball.

No NDombele, we got what we deserved

He didnt deserve to play though unfortunately. I can understand those who say despite the lack of 100% effort he should play, but I can also understand those who say we are repeatedly not winning so lets lose those with the lack of effort. Its different schools of thought, nothing wrong with either as both understandable.

I had zero expectations for this game so hardly a shock and I'm not sure why so many fans are seemingly surprised about the pattern of the game and that we had to do so much defending and cling on for dear life.

We can have no complaints as we rode our luck throughout, but lets be honest the double substitution was absolutely fucking disastrous in extinguishing any glimmers of a performance/play we'd started to put together in the second half. Sorry Ryan, but those subs were fucking bananas.

Agree and I’m not surprised at all, and can’t even get angry about it. Still a bit depressing to witness though.

Sounds crazy but we almost need a complete squad overhaul with only keeping 1 or 2 players as the loser mentality is too deeply engrained in all of these players. It is like an infectious disease

I worry we've regressed massively over the last two seasons. It's going to a painful rebuild if one ever materialise

You just can't stop these juggernaut clubs who win title after title. Forget about the super league it's these super clubs that are the true poison in football. There's no surprise a team full of world class players is going to win again today. I just feel numb to it all to be honest and it's just boring really. We've been here time and time again and always come up short so with every disappointment I'm braced for it. You can't go 13 years without a trophy and lose your last 3 finals and have belief. The only chance we would have is to buy world class players who have won titles elsewhere and already have that winning mentality. That's what Chelsea and City have done.

Congratulations City on another title bought.

Going to try and be calm here.

Actually not that bad a performance given the relative states of both teams. We are a complete shambles at the moment glued together by Kane's goals and not much else. City were always going to be on it and they were yet we stuck at it and were in the game. Second half we were much much better in the contest.

But...

We are so devoid of confidence and gameplan. Even when our hard work got us breaks we messed every single one up. This was partly down to Son having a truly terrible game to go with his form of months. It's also Reguilon just not displaying any of the class we thought he was going to bring. Serge had a good game but did a Serge thing and it cost us the goal.

The decision to start Winks and not Bale was looking good at 60 minutes. I totally understand why Sissoko was brought on when Bale was - most managers would make that choice and have for us (Poch/Mourinho/and Mason). there are well known coaching reasons for that choice. But, really, 60 minutes was the moment to inject Tanguy and Bergwijn. Bale's legs are gone as he barely got a touch while out there. Bringing Dele on was... as effectual as bringing on Bale.

We badly need a new manager with a new identity.

That fine but a completely different argument. The point I was responding to was a claim that no manager could do better with these players. Mason made really poor decisions
I didn't say that. I said we would get "similar results" and I was talking about over a longer span of time.

He deserved to play a lot more than Winks did.

Son can fuck off man

utter ****
That's harsh but he was wayward with his passing today and I'd have probably hooked him not Moura.
Incidentally I'd kill for a player who can control the ball like Mahrez, balls come at him from all angles and heights and he just kills it dead

The one thing that gets me angry is somehow we managed to get through the first half even and actually started playing football in the second. You then bring on Sissoko for Lo Celso, our only creative player, and sub Lucas who was the only attacker making a difference. Yes were poor, but we actually had a chance to win and that chance was taken away by some idiotic subs. I actually feel cheated. This club is an absolute shambles at the moment.
