There were 3 other spurs players in front of him. A forward pass may got one of them. A back pass definitely won't get one of them.

even the commentators mentioned he didn’t have a single forward pass on yet somehow it’s still Lamelas fault. Yes sometimes he hangs on to the ball but it often seems he gets lambasted no matter what he does.
