I'm feeling happy about Spurs for the first time in what feels like forever.

But, everything I've read says that he takes a while to get his teams to click so we are going to have some very dodgy results in the first season and will need to show the faith.
I've read this so many times and always picture our fans booing and moaning after a couple of games. I'm not sure the usual suspects have the patience required and are still under the illusion that we should really be in the top 4. Hope I'm wrong but fear I'm not.

I "hope" it's like Brighton's season - lots of fun but with the occasional thumping. However, what worries me is Sanchez trying to play it out of the back and manoeuvre in tight spaces and thus consequently getting robbed and punished.

I think the latter could see the crowd getting restless "any idiot can see this will never work", "why can't he be more pragmatic" etc etc which Ange will not do.

Either way, it should be better than being bored to death!

I think the match going fans will be patient and that’s all that matters really.

Wonder if he’ll bring some staff from Celtic or use Mason & Wells or mix of both.

The Athletic article says that he is bringing John Kennedy with him as assistant. It was also mentioned elsewhere that Gavin Strachan and a video analysis guy will be coming with him too

Amazed if Sanchez is still here come the first game.

Think Arse are dead certs to get Luton away first, just like they got Brentford in their first game in the PL. Friday night vibes.
Sorry to be the anorak. Luton’s first 2 games are away due to works to make ground fit for PL purpose. 😂

I’ve made it clear before that he’s not my first choice but I posted before that I hope it turns out to be the right appointment and I’ve also been trying to look for positives since. One of the big positives I think we might see with him, rather than someone who takes a more balanced and controlled approach to attack, is the atmosphere in the stadium. If we become a relentless attacking team always looking to play on the front-foot, imagine the electrifying sound the crowd would naturally make at home games with the player’s feeding off it and thus amplifying the effect for both of them perpetually… we’ll see much more atmospheres like the time we drubbed arsenal last season. For a stadium that’s been engineered for acoustics, we haven’t been able to make the most use of it under Conte and mourinho’s styles of play but maybe that changes soon.

It’s about time we made proper use of that single stand kop and get new white hart lane rocking game after game.

I'm probably alone in thinking this... but I'm not sure how his system can accommodate both Kane and Sonny on the field at the same time? Neither have shown any inclination to press aggressively. Sonny was practically immobile this season. Not just 'cos of 'playing with this back to goal'... I'm talking about off the ball. So many games I'd watch him lazily track back or close players down. I think that's okay, carrying one player in the starting 11 who struggles being persistent and aggressive. But not two.

Would be fantastic if Ange can change that propensity, but in Sonny's case, I think his legs have started to go. It was very noticeable this past season how much he seems to have lost a yard of pace. Something that was a key component of his playing style. As he isn't a highly technical player. In fact, he has a distinctly average first touch. And his passing range (long and short) isn't world class. In fact, it was fairly poor last season. Yeah, he'd have his moments - but they were few and far between.

So, yeah - fascinated to see how the new coach figures out how to play his style of football with two great forwards who aren't so great at a key component of his tactics... aggression / pressing. Time will tell, I suppose! Hope he is able to get them playing his way. But, right now - I have some doubts.
