There's much more to us that there was to Bielsa's Leeds and I don't just mean in terms of quality.
We don't go man to man all over the pitch, there's a constant and high press of course but the movement of the players is so fluid, it makes it really hard for opponents to follow.
One minute Maddison is defending the edge of his box and Udogie is the farthest forward players, the next Porro or Sarr are up there and Deki is pressing in the middle.
Leeds were just hell for leather, whereas there's a lot more thought and strategy behind our style, or so it seems.

It does seem to be a type of 'total football' that Ange goes for. Yes it's high tempo, high up the pitch and aggressive but there's a lot more to it than that and that's why it's important that we continue to get him the type of players he wants.
I didn’t say we were the same as Leeds. The point is that Bielsa wouldn’t change, even though it was obvious they had been worked out and were getting hammered. Kompany won’t change either.
Obviously the quality of our players is higher than those two, or it was till this week, looks like Maddison out for a month and more now.
It was inevitable that we would lose Maddison eventually as he has carried an injury nearly all season.
will he risk a Bentancur start , doubt it, prob Pierre to start. If Lo Celso had anything about him he could get a lot of games but Ange doesn’t seem to rate him.

Did anyone catch the Bissouma interview directly after the Ange segment on TNT 3. It was really interesting to hear him talk about his experience of working with Bielsa.
Bielsa saw him as a RB whereas Biss wanted to play in the middle. Bielsa told him "you're just covering there because the first choice RB was injured" but even when the RB came back Biss was still getting picked there because he was playing better :ROFLMAO:

Also hearing him talk about his first time meeting Ange, changed him as a person, "something in me came to life"

He’d probably give up all 3 awards for Monday result to be different and all the injuries to not have happened

Is the press conference live anywhere?

Can’t believe I’m asking that, but so big is the interest in what Ange has to say. Amazing.

Now is the time for others to step and show they belong here. Look how Sarr grabbed his chance with Bentancur out. Hopefully others will do the same.

Did you watch the Chelsea game. A better team could have have had 7 or 8.
But they didn't, did they? The Chelsea game was a one-off and we would have lost anyway. We couldn't have held out with both our first choice CBs off the pitch, down to nine men and our creative player also off injured. What Ange did was to give Bentancur a much needed half an hour on the pitch, emphasise to the team the way we are going to play and in turn had our supporters roaring with approval, which gives the players the confidence of having the fans behind them.

It was a fantastic effort by the nine men left standing with Vicario and Hojbjerg outstanding and the other seven players giving their all. In addition there was amazing support from the fans who attended the game, absolutely brilliant.

I get that, I just don't think we'll be as easy to work out and counter.
Granted, these next couple of month are going to be a bit of a struggle but I honestly don't mind if Ange sticks to his attacking guns.
I've had enough defensive football to last a lifetime and it's just not how we should play.

"It's maybe the first time in my career where we've had such a disruption from one game."

And his glorious home record ended as well, I'd forgotten about that.
