Love the result love Ange and here’s to a very exciting 2024.

Id like to know if these injuries are because of the style of play and training or our medical team need improving or we just need better luck and also we need a deeper squad but give Ange what he needs and we are building something really special.
Every time we have a run of injuries it's the medical department and for years too. I'm sure it's been looked at but i'm not so sure they go around hiring buffoons as routine, I think this season, the winter world cup and schedule is and has been at breaking point for a while now, a lot of other clubs are having injuries too. Of course there'll be the odd luckier club that goes unscathed but as badly as it has hit us, this is more far reaching than just us. IMO of course.

Maybe, it's not often that I am :D

I'm sure there have been injuries that are unrelated, my guess would be the contact ones as opposed to pulls, strains and tearing but I know nothing. It just seems to me that it's all gotten so advanced now, bodies are so finely tuned, that it's just at saturation point. Plus the great random factor of 'luck' may be involved.

Concerning thing about the injuries is the fact we're not playing many games at all. No League Cup since August. No European games at all. There's got to be some internal discussion as we shouldn't be in this state with only one game a week for most of the season.

Medical department are not responsible for the fitness and conditioning work either. They're just responsible for the treatment. If we keep getting injuries you have to look more at the training sessions between matches and the analysis of players fitness during each match. Absolutely though they need to look at the schedule and whether they can do better separating league from international games. Also they need to look at how the TV schedule is impacting players. We should not have played Thursday night and then Sunday afternoon as simple as that.

I missed the game, what was all this about? Finally had enough of our players getting targeted without protection?
I believe they were complaining about Veliz going down even though he was struggling on for a while. Seemed pretty obvious he needed to go down for treatment. Ange is just sticking up for him and honestly no reason for them to complain about an obvious injury. It's clearly not a time wasting situation and they can clearly see him hobble for about 10 mins prior.

Remember that season liverpool had all those injuries? loads of hamstring issues. One of Klopps first seasons if i’m not mistaken. They obviously adjusted something for the next season and ended up winning the league.
Probably a combination of factors for us but high intensity and *some medical tweaks* might help us moving forward

Just seen the Bournemouth comments and they were complaining he didn't just hobble off instead of going down and delaying time. Although every team does the same and they even admitted as much so seems to be an overreaction. It's just a passionate situation above anything so I hope the teams don't get punished for not controlling their benches.

I was impressed when Ange got us to the top of the table but what he's managed to do keeping us within a few points of top place with our freakish run of injuries and suspension is on a whole new level.

That comment from the Arsenal fan on us being able to win with four full backs in the backline (although he never mentioned our goalscorer having to go off or our young striker hobbling off reducing us to 10 men) summed it up for me.

At no point as he come up with excuses or complained about it he's just accepted it and tried to find a way out such as resurrecting Lo Celso, or finally getting some goals from Richy.

There seems to be a school of thought that he's not above criticism, but if there's one manager in the modern history of Spurs who deserves to be, it's this man who's still only halfway through his first season with us.

Celtic fans also talk about the fact that he really didn't use the youth team.

Some managers (klopp, pep, poch, de zerbi, even ten hag) like to utilise their academy a lot.

Other managers (Jose, Conte etc) will only use youth as a last resort, and really value experience over everything else.

Now if the experienced route was working, I'd have no complaints.

But with VDV and Romero out, we have conceded more goals than any other team in the Premier League.

Relying on the senior players (Emerson, Dier) clearly isn't working out.

We currently have the best youth teams we've had in (possibly) decades.

The concern is that if you're a young CB at this club, and there is no senior CBs in the squad at all, and the players who are playing are conceding more goals than any other team in the league. The fact that you still can't get a chance surely suggests that you should move for the sake of your career.

This could also start turning the heads of other young players like Mikey Moore (who looks like a true wunderkind), who have no shortage of admirers.

Kids who failed to get an appearance at Celtic are now at Liverpool, utd, and city.

If we don't give this group of young players a chance, someone else will.
I assume the player now at Liverpool is Ben Doak, who Ange gave a couple of sub appearances to, in Ange's first season when Doak was just 16, then he signed for Liverpool.

After Doak made it clear he wouldn't be signing a contract and would be leaving, they stopped playing him.

Who are the players now at Utd and City?

The same Celtic that he dominated with? So they're as bad as us really. Doing well but still complaining about the lack of youth (minus the ones who do play including Veliz).

Brighton had 33 points after 19 games last season, this season they sit at 30 points.

Tottenham had 33 points after 19 games last season, this season we sit at 36 points.

The big difference this season is we don’t have a runaway leader, last season we were 14 points behind Arsenal after 19 games!
I thought the big difference was that last season we had our greatest ever goalscorer.

Plus Lo Celso was going apeshit. Was clearly very unhappy with something said by their coaching staff about Veliz.

Love seeing Gio doing that. Getting protective and passionate. I sense for the first time since he has been at Spurs he feels like he is a part of the family.

I have a funny feeling that if there are any, they'll be along similar lines to Doak and hardly setting the world alight where they are.
It's just another lame attempt to have a pop at Ange when there's really nothing to criticise him for.

I had a look on Transfermarkt and also googled it and no players came up as joining Utd from Celtic and the on player to show as joining City from them was Josh Adam and he left before Postecoglou joined Celtic.

Lo Celso acting out is the norm these days. Walking into a pissed off Haaland against City, pushing Joao Pedro off the sidelines when he was getting subbed and now today.

After years of indifference, it's his way of showing that he is finally one of us.
