I assume he is just very careful not to end up in a situation like the one at Bayern, where he obviously didn't have the full confidence of the decision-makers above him in the hierarchy.

If he fails at his next club, it could ruin his reputation, so it makes sense to me that he takes his time with this decision. He is still very, very young for a coach, so he has the time to wait for an opportunity that feels right for him.
Exactly this.

Also he’s still being paid by Bayern for quite a while so no rush.

3 challenging but certainly not impossible jobs.
Chelsea - owner buying a load of random players and wanting into the dressing room with his pals at half time and after matches - SWERVE

Spurs - Levy meddling and moving goalposts - SWERVE

PSG - Mbappe signing off on transfers and having way too much power - SWERVE

I’d say he’s a bloody smart bloke and trying to avoid a repeat of what he endured at Bayern.

Alright mate. Whatever keeps him on that pedestal.

Now this is an Ange team I could get really excited about. Kulu might be the weakest link, so swap him for someone like Chiesa who wants to leave junventus and we could be seriously cooking next season.

Chiesa has not looked remotely good following his acl. Would be a huge risk to get him. Plus Juve would want big money and I believe he plays off the left doesn’t he?

I love how people want levy to back the manager and not interfere, but then when they find out the manager might want players like CCV and Connor Gallagher they very much want him given someone else that they would approve of.

Ange is not the kind of guy to accept interference so how about we just relax and assume whatever happens is because he wants it to snd see how it all plays out.

i hope Big Ange realises the gulf in quality between the leagues he has managed in and the PL when identifying transfer targets…

Everything I've read says that he is totally obsessed with football and watches it from loads of different leagues. I'd therefore hope that he's twigged that the PL has a style of it's own and therefore needs players of a certain quality. The press in particular will no doubt be worlds away from what you get from Partick Thistle.

I do like the stuff I've read about how he wants the right characters first and foremost, as I think that can go a long way to making up sometimes for having less natural talent.

Edit: This is also a benefit of him having worked in 3 different leagues - it's not his first rodeo, whereas if we got someone in who'd never managed outside of Spain or whatever, then it might be an issue.

Yes this stuff about being the right character as top priority is important. I also get the impression he enjoys his reputation for unearthing gems and picking up bargains. I can see him actually preferring more under the radar type signings with a hunger to prove the doubters wrong than big star names who’ve been there and done it all already.

Where has it been said he actually wants CCV?

Really? From the outside looking in, all three clubs look chaotic and have problems. But then, that trait is fairly common with the top teams. 🤷‍♂️
It’s pretty rare that a top club is looking for a new manager unless something has gone wrong.
