Hoping someone can help as I’m banned from posting in the ITK thread. Anyway it appears to be all doom and gloom over there that Ange isn’t happy with not getting in a CB. This is fair enough, however there are posts mentioning how it went downhill when previous managers weren’t backed and just wondering has there been any news that there has been a falling out already? Or is it just people bed wetting as usual?
Think it's the latter before you and me get banned from this section also!

Fantastic management to let players feel free to express themselves and try and make mistakes and learn, especially young players.

I heard on a podcast that I think it was as Australia U21's coach in one of Ange's early games he asked the CB's to play out from the back as we do now and one of the CB's gave the ball away twice in the first 20 minutes and they let in 2 goals from it, they lost the game and fans and media were calling for that player to be dropped.

Ange said that he was clapping and encouraging the player the whole time and he would absolutely NOT be dropped because he was doing what Ange instructed him to do and he would rather he tried to play that way and make mistakes than just hoof the ball as longer term that wouldn't help the team to develop the style of play to be successful.

The player had full confidence to try and play how Ange had said and Ange backed the player and took all responsibility for any mistakes.

Top top management, night and day compared to Jose & Conte's rigidity and blame culture and pressure.

"The manager literally said you can make a mistake."

That to me is HUGE for a player's confidence. Keep trying and doing it the way the manager wants you to and if you make a mistake that's okay.

We’ve even seen this so far this season when VDV has had two goals go in our net via his feet.

His performances mid-game hasn’t dropped and that is credit to himself and the manager for giving him the confidence to continue playing after mistakes/mishaps.

Neither of those are any where near his fault though. He's doing his job and getting in the way of the ball.

True although those own goals were hardly mistakes, very unlucky situations.

I think he also added that when he saw him taking the same risk again the next game he knew he had cracked the culture with them.

Foyth is really poor defending. I do like that Ange encourages players to be brave on the ball though. They played like they had too much going on their heads under Conte. Like they would be always thinking "am I in the right position, should I just clear the ball long..". Players need to play with a bit of freedom.

That player from the U21's went on to become none other than Michael Jordan :cautious:
