If both were in top form there wouldn't be a choice to make. Lennon every time. Sadly, him being in any sort of form happens only very occasionally these days. I say these days but really its been for quite some time now. I'm guessing but over the course of a season I reckon you might get one or two goals out of Lennon, a similar number of assists and about two hundred and fifty promising positions squandered. One or two fleeting glimpses of his ability during a game isn't enough any more.

So i'd have Sig over Lennon because he actually makes a worthwhile contribution to games on a much more regular basis. Lennon i'd sell the second I got a reasonable offer. Sadly, he's never, ever, going to be the player he once could have been. This is why none of the big boys have never shown a serious interest too.

Agree with this but I wouldn't want either in the team, both are not good enough.
Lennon flatters to deceive and Siggy other than scoring the very odd goal, spends most of the game on his arse, looking for a freekick.

Nope. Singh has played a good few games and even when scoring has never been more than on the margins of the game. Lennon on the other hand has dominated game. In fact I would go as far as to say that Lennon has dominated more games in a spurs shirt than siggy has played in a spurs shirt.

is that good enough?

lennon dominate games??? are u having a laugh.. only spurs player in past twenty odd years to dominate game was modric and we sold him.. rest have not a clue how to control games. lennon relies on service and been put into correct areas of pitch for him to dominate

Think we are going to get stuffed. Going for 3 0 City. We aren't a good side at the moment and even worse is that we are fucking boring.

Not looking forward to this. Come next weekend we will be 11 points behind the Goons. Embarrassing.
Look dude, i'm not enamoured with our football at the minute, but lets not write ourselves off before a ball has even been kicked eh?

I think we may get something out of today

i can see us giving city a hard time but it depends on which team turns up really - the control play team or the counter attack team. I dont think passing sideways all game is going to help, this is a game where fast quick counter attacking will do it

I watched 10 mins of the motd merseyside derby last night and it became painfully obvious what we have been missing this this year. We have a large squad of good players but the quality of Gerard's crossing/passing & Suarez free kick and run for Allen's miss despite arriving back late from a long trip on international duty was a different level to us. It was enjoyable out of your seat exciting stuff that we spurs fans want to see. If we bring in anyone in the next couple of windows it has to be quality now over quantity if we are to challenge.
I love daws but would go for Kaboul today. Daws on thurs. walker, Kaboul, vlad, jan with sandro protecting should make it difficult for city, especially if they have silva missing. They are always weaker without kompany so there is some hope for today.

With paulinho's international exploits we might see capoue & sandro in midfield or sandro & dembele. Either way we'll be solid & I think the game will be tight. If we went with capoue & sandro we might be able to be more brave in the wide areas & pay two from Lennon, townsend, lamella rather than siggy. I'm not saying we will win but i'm sure it will be a lot closer than some are suggesting.

It would be nice to be pleased when we see the team sheet as it's been a while since we lined up in a league match & I've thought 'Like it'.

I'll not count chickens though. Potentially experimenting with Lamela in for Eriksen would be interesting & would sate the pro-Lamela clique (ie. everyone) whilst not compromising the uber-defence we seem melded to.

Be astounded if Ade is even in the match day squad TBH, think there's a bit of hoodwinking going on mentioning him and 4-4-2 this week; it's Man City away FFS, you don't roll up there with a bag of fresh ideas & expect to get anything. Saying that, Defoe vs West Ham was deemed a good idea, so it's not impossible.

All in all they're missing big players in Kompany & Silva & that gives us a more than sporting chance, the two teams that line up could be comparably talented & I don't fear us against anyone any more; for all that we have had a mixed bag of results, we are uniformly dominant in most statistical elements; viz: so are they.

Should be a cracker & i'll reiterate that I fully expect Nasri to extend his record of making me dislike him more every time we play against him, but people doomsaying aren't reading between the lines; this is a match between two of the strongest teams in the league and as such the home side has a slight advantage, but certainly not a definitive one.

Manchester City: Pantilimon, Zabaleta, Demichelis, Nastasic, Clichy, Navas, Fernandinho, Yaya Toure, Nasri, Negredo, Aguero.

That defence is get-at-able.
