He's going to play Townsend, Holtby and Siggy behind Soldado. Only way that could get worse is if you change one for Lennon. Would love to be wrong as that's an awful trio against city

Yep, personally i would like to see.

Soldado
Townsend Holtby Lamela

I agree and this line up would communicate a commitment to score goals in an honest attempt to win the game... We shall be very disappointed with a conservative Spurs side looking to slide by with a 0-0 draw...

Can someone please please please for once and for all explain to me why so many think Sigurdsson is a better player than Lennon?! It's absolutely ludicrous.

Reminds me of the "combine two players" thread, Sigs Shooting and delivery with Lennons pace would be ideal.
There are downsides to both as individuals, and i don't think they are being played in either's most natural/comfortable position.
Lennons is obviously right wing and Sigs is in a CM 3 or behind the Striker, won't get anywhere near that at Spurs though.

cos he has a football brain out on the field. lennon, like townsend , is a headless chicken who runs down blind alleys and does not see bigger picture, a pass or in the main score enough goals... very underrated player is siggy and only midfielder in whole squad who can nick a goal from midfield. that good enough??

Problem is, when he doesn't score, he is simply not doing enough, there was a stat somewhere stating he hasn't created a single chance for Soldado this season.

Absolutely not. Utter nonsense.

agreed.. who in this spurs set up every does enough apart from sandro. lazy good for nothings the majority of them.. thats why sandro will get a huge move next summer or summer after just like modric and bale. just getting the experience before he joins a top club. truth hurts but thats the way it seems to me. we are just a mis mash of good players , not great players , sprinkled with one or two top players and told to run around a bit imvho, cases in been been lennon and townsend. where is the intelligence playing between the lines on the field of play..where is the evdidence that effortand progress is been made on training field? sideways across the pitch and back again or backwards. its soooooooooooooo predictable.

Say you're Richards, Zabaleta or Clichy- who would you prefer to play against? Sigurdsson or Lennon? Absolutely no contest.
Funny enough I saw this question being asked on SSN the other day. Clichy was being interviewed and he was asked who he'd rather play against. He just gave a gallic shrug and said "what the fuck do I care who I face, i'm on 200 grand a week wether its Messi or Joe Skinner from the Dog & Duck" before laughing into the camera, waving a massive wad of fifty pound notes in the air shouting "loadsamoney". So know we know what Harry Enfield has been up to the past few years. Fucking genius.

Lennon cant, in any way, play left which is the only place AVB want to play him, Sig can. Makes sense to me. Although i would much prefer to play Townsend or Chadli left over Sig.

My girlfriend is a City fan, so it would be nice to win to shut her up!! At least she lives in Manchester though, so she's not a plastic

If both were in top form there wouldn't be a choice to make. Lennon every time. Sadly, him being in any sort of form happens only very occasionally these days. I say these days but really its been for quite some time now. I'm guessing but over the course of a season I reckon you might get one or two goals out of Lennon, a similar number of assists and about two hundred and fifty promising positions squandered. One or two fleeting glimpses of his ability during a game isn't enough any more.

So i'd have Sig over Lennon because he actually makes a worthwhile contribution to games on a much more regular basis. Lennon i'd sell the second I got a reasonable offer. Sadly, he's never, ever, going to be the player he once could have been. This is why none of the big boys have never shown a serious interest too.

Think we are going to get stuffed. Going for 3 0 City. We aren't a good side at the moment and even worse is that we are fucking boring.

Not looking forward to this. Come next weekend we will be 11 points behind the Goons. Embarrassing.

Fully support the team but can't see anything but a defeat. If Dawson plays Aguero will slaughter him.

Nope. Singh has played a good few games and even when scoring has never been more than on the margins of the game. Lennon on the other hand has dominated game. In fact I would go as far as to say that Lennon has dominated more games in a spurs shirt than siggy has played in a spurs shirt.

is that good enough?
