Seriously, anyone on this forum who thinks AVB can turn this team around is totally delusional.
All it takes is changing tactics. Nothing delusional there. We can't keep changing managers when we lose a few.

Did you actually watch the game?Lamela did zilch today. Fact is lots of fans were screaming for him over Townsend and Defoe over Soldado. Those were our worst games. I don't think we will make top six at this rate.

You rated my post spam, just wondering why.
I thought it was a fair comment.
That could be why we have won diddly squat compared to our rivals during that time. We need defensive stability as well as efficient attacking play to be successful.
There were mistakes in his choice of personnel. Playing Dawson, the CB with the slowest turn in the PL against forwards like Aguero and Negredo, both clever and nippy, being the most obvious one. There was no surprise he was turned inside out twice, both costing us goals. Why not play Chiriches? it's not like they're much of a threat in the air.
One might not have been able to predict the poor performances of Lloris and Kaboul however, the latter of whom looked like he lacked sharpness due to deficient game time.
However, the tactics, not the players were our biggest downfall. We've repeatedly been beaten by teams with pace that get in behind our high line. Newcastle did it, Arsenal did it, West Ham did it.
City have the fastest frontline in the PL. Navas, Aguero, Toure are all rapid. Why continue to push up the field against that sort of pace? It's naive, risky and unintelligent. The worst thing is that AVB doesn't seem to be learning from this same mistake over and over again...
Indeed, looked gutless and never took it out of 2nd gear... needs a leader to kick him in the backside to get him going... Baldini to hire Van Basten?....What exactly did Lamela do? Few imitation step-overs and never going past anyone? We can't be experimenting with players who are not ready.
More from Andre Villas-Boas: "There is an immediate shock after 15 seconds.
"The concentration was not there, but the reaction of the players was positive. Everything went wrong for us, every opportunity was a goal and we paid a heavy price, too much for what we deserved.
"City were excellent, and we were extremely poor.
"My responsibility is to lift the players, there is always another game coming. We have to give a response in the Europa League.
"We have to be ashamed of ourselves, and react to a defeat like this."
DON'T YOU DARE, ANDRE, I DON'T WANT A SINGLE FIRST TEAM PLAYER ANYWHERE NEAR NORWAY
Do you want van basten by any chance?Indeed, looked gutless and never took it out of 2nd gear... needs a leader to kick him in the backside to get him going... Baldini to hire Van Basten?....
Van Der Vaart couldn't track back or defend and only shone in the first half. The biggest mistake we've made in the last two years was willingly letting Rafael Van der Vaart leave this club. He was the soul of our footballing side and the likes of Holtby and Sigurdsson could never replace what he brought to us going forward.

to think about the faith Levy has propelled into himAVB is a faux manager. I have said it all along he does not know what he is doing. Sure he has some 'chalkboard' plays and has been around real mangers but that does not make you one. Twice now he has taken a group of quality footballers and turned them into a bunch of hapless losers...at Chelsea when we all laughed at how bad they were and now with my beloved Spurs
Yep, agree with this.
Regardless of who plays we are playing the same week in week out.
From the k.o today, 3 passes backwards and we're on the back foot straight away, why not have a wide player making a run towards the opposition fb and try to get the ball out to him, be positive. Not pass back to paulinho, then back to Kaboul then back to Lloris before he launches for a 50/50 anyway. What was the actual point??
Honestly I don't think he was that bad. Other players played worse. In comparison, I feel Lamela was one of the better players... at least he was presenting himself instead of hiding.
I just don't know what to think anymore... It boggles the mind how AVB is struggling with this group of players
I don't give a fuck about the Europa League you fucking clown!
I refuse to believe that the slow build up is an instruction from AVB, IMO the players are going OTT in regards to being patient in possession. Also its clear that the players lack common sense so AVB needs to instruct them to up the tempo from the start.
I agree about Dawson (he needs to be ruthless with him again) and the lack of creativity he needs to address those asap but again the players are making bad decisions on the pitch that can cause possession to be recycled.
Also Vertonghen is playing with an attitude (not the good kind) because he's not playing at CB, he doesn't complain when he plays 95% of his Belgium matches at LB.
This is a joke. Could be 6-0 as we definitely ain't gonna score.
