Same shit different season. Although on the plus side I just won 750 quid on Man utd HT/FT that Spurs side was never going to score today let alone win. We all said it before didn't we ?

The fact you bet probably best part of £300+ on spurs losing is not a plus side. Mugs game is right, you will only lose it all next week.

Commentators calling him mephis all season is really going to fuck me off. Its not like he has a long or hard to pronounce surname. Fuck sake, PL should take a stand against these sort of things.
Memphis requested to be known by his name, with out his surname. Can't be fussed about those things.

Defensively we looked a lot better. Walker was brilliant, Verts was soilid and MOTM Toby was exceptional. I think there are two areas that concern me deeply and did prior to kick off. I don't think Bentaleb or Mason are good enough and Kane will suffer this year if he doesn't try and offload the ball quicker. Teams are sussing him out.

We played well and looked the better side which makes it all the more gutting that once again an individual error costs us. It feels like unforced errors that result in goals against afflicts us more than any other team.

It did last. Highest % of errors leading to goals in league!

We need pace in the final third badly.

And Chadli needs benching. The squares can quote me and say 'oh but he scored double digit goals last year' but the truth is he doesnt suit our style whatsoever.

He's slow, lethargic, cannot pass, cannot cross, and showed today he can be selfish. He just isnt good enough to play LW for us

Chadli was truly awful today. Uniquely bad in everything he did.

Some very good signs in that game.

We should have drawn at least and I would have fancied us to win if bents didn't take a shit and decide he was suddenly boss with passing with his right foot. Good lesson for him today; unfortunately that lesson cost us points so he needs to work super hard to not let it happen again.

It's also a wake-up call in that respect to the rest of the team not to be wishy-washy in danger spots on the field.

Well played Moussa and kyle (trippier brings another dimension to the right though, he must be brought in but I can see poch was concerned about young's speed and drive today).

Never had any doubts about Toby.

Chad, Eriksen. Not enough. Bring more or you'll be seeing Mr Bench much more than you'd like.

Happy with most of what I saw today for the first game away to that lot after the audi cup.

Alli, trippier, pritchard, Onomah will be the difference for us this season in vitalising our game.

We need to get the 2 Wf/striker in and a CM and then we're set.

Feeling positive, let's get on with the season and build proper cohesion, dynamism and a cutting edge.

Special shout out to Lamela for coming on and running his little balls of.

He doesn't want his surname being used because his dad left him when he was really young, so doesn't want to share his name.

This is why people want signings before the season starts. You can bring up as many stats as you like, you can't tell me some pace in N'Jie and Berahino and a bit more solidity in midfield wouldn't have made a difference. They were there for the taking, but we were just as shit as they were.

We are dying for some pace in the front four.

Yep. The club knew that at the end of last season though and it hasn't been addressed. So whats the chances of them actually doing it now?

Hopefully they do as we aren't far off.

The window closes in 3 weeks, people throwing their toys out the pram saying that we should have secured someone before kick off, well we haven't and we just have to live with it and hope we do get someone in in the next few weeks.

TA looked good, the rest meh - no pace, no creativity, no threat, no leadership - so much work to do between the now and the end of the window that should have been done already and I doubt will actually be done at all

Surprising we defended well, just nothing up top.... Need to get that sorted next week and quickly.

Didn't the fact that momentum was improved after Dier went off suggest that it might not have been Mason that was slowing us down ?
Dier was substituted toward the close of the game and under Poch we traditionally play with greater urgency in closing minutes. So I doubt the problem was Dier as you appear to be inferring.
