Lamela - 7.5 - worked hard, started slowly then improved and gave us a goal. One of the few players who made things happen
Janssen - 7.5 - good debut. Was very involved. Could have scored. Deserves to start next week
Alderweireld - 7 - faultless. Solid.
Dier - 7 - two very good tackles and some good clearances. He shouldn't play next to Wanyama, neither can dictate the play.
Rose - 7 - Thought a few little mistakes aside a good performance with good energy and presence.
Vorm - 7 - Did nothing wrong.
Wanyama - 6.5 - not bad, but has not dominated the midfield.
Walker - 6.5 - sometimes a bit sloppy at the back. Good going forward and a great delivery for our goal
Vertonghen - 5.5 - Missing pre season hasnt done him well. Can do better.
Kane - 5 - no shot on goal, missed some dynamic
Eriksen - 5 - disappointed with his freekicks and corners for a while now. Everything else was too sloppy
Lloris - 5 - should have done better with that freekick. Hopefully his injury is not too bad.
Dele - 4.5 - His overall play is not good enough. As it is most of the time. Very often he pops up with a great goal to save the day. Not today. Should have been subbed. Needs to improve in lots of aspects of the game.

Thought Wanyama had a great debut, started off rough with a number of poor passes but really picked up as the game went on.

Deir was also very good.

Our defence was shaky, Jan needs game time, the two wing backs went from quality to idiotic in the blink of an eye and Toby was Toby. Really Eriksen, Alli and to some extent Kane were all very poor. I feel maybe that's harsh on Kane as he had no service what so ever, but Janssen was excellent when he came, although I do think he should have scored, so one can't be to forgiving of Kane's ghost like performance.

Lamela was excellent, think he will boss this season. Easy MOM for me.


Really we need some more creative quality if we really want to compete in the PL and CL and if we had the players I would probably drop Alli for a game or two.

Mauricio needs to get a grip of them. Lazy, lethargic performance. Everton could have won it in the first half.
Better second half but should have been too late and will be against better teams.

Agree with pretty much everything said. Dier, Wanyama, Lamela impressive. Full backs good.

Two things stand out - Walker can now cross???? If its true Poch has manager of the year in the bag.

Jansen looked class, will push Kane for a starting place.

Lloris- I think he was a bit unlucky for the goal. It was a perfect delivery and looked like someone was going to get a head on it. Then when they didn't it went right in the corner. Plenty of good keepers get caught out like that.

Walker- I like him but he frustrates me more than almost any other Spurs player. Works he arse off up and down the line but checks back too often, take the man on and get to the line and cross. I know he not the best at delivering a ball but we need more crosses.

Toby- The guy is class.

Verts- looked rusty, will come good though.

Rose- worked hard but again more quality crosses please. Our fullbacks are out width and the delivery needs to be better.

Dier- some good tackles. Playing two defensive midfielders is a mistake though. Was surprised he was taken off.

Victor- made some early errors in the tackle but looked better when Dier went off. Like Dier when he's next to Dembele, I think he'll be fine with Dembele next to him. He clearly not a playmaker though.

Lamela- my MOTM. Love his fight and passion and a very well taken header under pressure. Hope he continues to improve.

Eriksen- fuck me he's frustrating. Sometimes looks like he doesn't care and loses the ball far too easily in contact for a player of his quality. Not sure what's going on with him as we know how good he can be.

Alli- not a good game. Looks like he's still in Euros form.

Kane- again not a good game but didn't get a lot of service. He'll come good.

Vorm- did nothing wrong and made a good save just after coming on.

Janssen- changed it when he came on. Gave Everton a different problem to deal with and was unlucky not to score.

Poch- first game and he's not had the full squad back for long so won't be too harsh but 2 DMs doesn't work for me. Has got them really fit again though and we probably should have won it in the end.
