I enjoyed Doherty’s performance, his passing has been shocking previously, but today, he was very good.

Sess started brightly, hope he’s ok. Him and Reggie pushing each other could be a win win.

Bentancur back instead of Winks, was huge. I still think Bentancur and Skippy could be the real deal.

Everton are gash, but we were good to watch this morning (Syd time)

Lloris - 7 - Nothing to do. Not a single shot on target to save.
Doherty - 8.5 - Very good. Two really good assists and very solid defensively. Linked up really well with Kulusevski.
Romero - 7 - Would have been an 8 but for that ridiculous tackle that got him a needless yellow. I think that was Brazil vs Argentina 'afters'.
Dier - 8 - Bullied their forwards and good distribution throughout. A calming influence for sure.
Davies - 7.5 - Solid
Sessegnon - 7 - Nice assist for the first, more positive tonight, but did give get caught in possession several times.
Bentancur - 9 - MOTM. Best midfielder with and without the ball.
Højbjerg - 7.5 - Solid.
Kulusevski - 9 - Very good. Could easily be MOTM.
Son - 7 - Very ponderous on two occasions with 1-on-1's first half. Much better after he scored.
Kane - 9 - Easily could have been MOTM. Knew he would not miss the first. World class finish for the second.

Reguilon - 8 - Nice goal. Looks like a man who is desperate for a place in the team.
Bergwijn - 7 - Couple of nice runs.
Sanchez - 8 - Thought he played very well, a couple of really good tackles.

Conte - 9 - The work on the training pitch is starting to come off now. Worth pointing out he did not have a pre-season with the players and he rarely does not have that. I expect big things next season.

The cohesion and understanding between the players was most pleasing for me.

When to press, when to sit back, where runners would be, playing out of tight spaces and retaining possession confidently.

Very encouraging: TEAM EFFORT

Classic late-career Dele performance. Came on, ambled about a bit. Made some short passes to get the percentage up. Pretended to compete. Very sad to see.

Kane obviously is simply a world class performer.

Bentancur though... This guy is our best midfielder since Dembele. Looks class. Runs the show. Is tidy, calm, aggressive, inventive, can pass. What more could you want? Really like him.

Kulusevski just adds so much. Such a clever player. Finally, a player on Kane and Son's wavelength like Eriksen was.

Dier was again good today. Passing good too. Our best defender.

Doc. It sticks in my throat but he was excellent today. It helps having someone like Kulusevski ahead of him, always in space. Will never be the answer, but a really good today.

Yet another strange performance from Son. He is woefully out of form and yet he still picks up goals and affects the game a lot. Great runs, terrible finishes today. Should have had a hat-trick.

The other week, Conte was crowing that his wingbacks had combined for a goal and thus his methods were finally beginning to display themselves on the pitch.

Well, this evening one wingback had two assists and could have had a third plus a goal. The other starting wingback got an assist and the substitute got a goal.

Snap.

While other get the headlines on 5-0 trashing, Dier did great job leading the defence yet again.

He is excelling in that role. The biggest compliment I can give is that I am as confident in the defence when he is in it as I was confident in the midfield when dembele played.

He brings that calm and assurance. You can take any defender out of that defence but you can't take Dier out.

That trio I think have worked and developed an understanding I wouldn't dare meddle with. I would go as far as to say I'd go with it next season.

Put Bentancour, just a massive difference this guy makes over the alternative. But another pleasing team performance. Kulu physicality is winning me over, I also loved that he got in the refs face after Richarlison dived (I noticed the ref gave Richarlison nothing after this) Wing backs again playing better, Doherty like a new signing ;-), and Kane being Kane, just another level, one of the best in the world without a doubt, I said to my son today if we had even 3 or 4 players on Kanes level we'd win the league.
