I really liked the look of absolute contempt on his face when played a terrible hospital pass by royal (I think). I felt that summed up my feeling about most of the players today, so well done that man.

As bad as Winks and PEH were, they weren’t helped by our complete lack of movement. Our wing backs play like they don’t want the ball, while Son, Kulu and Kane were a long way off it. Not often so many players have a shocker all at once.

They didn’t help themselves. They both played like cowards and were physically pathetic. Got given the run around by a 33 year old Championship plodder.

sons work rate was horrific today, for someone who apparently 'cares' about the club his body language was awful

PEH was the worst player on the pitch. I can think of multiple pathetic passes but the one at the end when a fairly easy 20 yard ball down the line sailed over our players head was the pick of the bunch.

He seems to talk as if he has some sort of winning mentality. He’s a plodder and not a particularly good one.

Dier was our best player by a distance. Hugo did well. Davies ok. Bergwijn was bright. The rest were atrocious and cowardly. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Special mention for Sonny who was almost as bad as PEH. A fucking travesty of a performance.

Can someone tell me why Winks is getting such diabolical ratings?
I’m far from a Winks hater but he was atrocious. No courage on the ball, everything went backwards or sideways - same as the fella playing next to them. Allied to the fact we didn’t control the game at any point and got dominated completely in midfield means the ratings he’s getting on here are justified.

He was awful.

Legitimately don't think Tom Carroll would be any worse

Hojbjerg had to carry Winks on his back with Son and Kane not giving a toss in making forward runs. I got fed up of seeing Kane running backwards trying the Hollywood.

I actually felt sorry for Hojbjerg he had far to much to do and no help at all from Winks the imposter

Why target Winks only? He was bad but he wasnt the worst on the pitch. Son was abysmal, but why do you only talk about Winks?
Its important to talk about Winks because we got overpowered there plus there wasn't any form of control or battle centrally.

I'm giving him and winks a break as they should never be paired together. Never. And that is on conte, as either of the 2 'mistakes' he loaned out would he given our play more creativity.

Generally Hojbjerg has been run into the ground this season, so he is entitled to plod a bit. He tries to get forward and assist despite his instincts and to be fair he has made things happen. But not today.
His stare of death was well justified and mirrored my own. We don't look of premiership quality at times. Or championship.

Dier is meant to marshal the defence but it was all over the place when we went to a 4 and never recovered. That goal was coming.

I certainly agree about Son - very poor.

But isn’t this the fault of Conte who continues with 2 CMs who continually are over run by teams with 3CMs who press. It’s not that different than what we had under Mourinho and Nunes. Sit deep, let the other team have the ball and hit them in the break. Against a Championship team we should be on the front foot right from the get go.

It was a pretty lackluster performance. I gave it to Berwjin just because of the energy he brought. We had our most dangerous period in front of goal just after he came on.
I found it strange that Conte waited so long to make a substitution given the overall performance.

Maybe the lackluster performance was due to traveling to 4 away games in 10 days. All of them Up North!

Really is hard work watching them in our midfield. The passes were always on, in behind, especially first half, the space was there to drive into with the ball as well, but they passed the opportunity time and again for a negative pass. Just gave Middlesbrough more encouragement and drew our forwards deeper with more ground to cover. Strange people think the issue is with our forwards last night or any game tbh.
