No excuses now. We have 13 games left and Conte has all week to work with them. Let’s see how good a coach he is.

I’m far from a Winks hater but he was atrocious. No courage on the ball, everything went backwards or sideways - same as the fella playing next to them. Allied to the fact we didn’t control the game at any point and got dominated completely in midfield means the ratings he’s getting on here are justified.

He was awful.
Don’t forget the miss placed passes he did as well, which lead to a few counter attacks against us. He even tried to foul one time after a balls up and ballsed that up as well. He’s total balls!

In a game of infuriating performances PEH was the worst (well apart from Son, but I'm not a fan of Son anyway)
Howson absolutely destroyed him.

I watched it from the stands and How's on took the ball off him, or ran past him many times. The fan next to me said it looked like he was running in treacle!

I also want to give a bit of praise to Sees, I don't think its coincidence that Jones, and Boro saw more joy down the right after he went off

Insipid. Id hope Conte shows them the full match a few times before the summer under the header of 'if you need to know why you havent won anything in your careers (and why most of you need to leave), watch this turgid mess again.'

None deserved.
It's a team game people.
Thought about Sess not because he was that good
but because he wasn't as bad as most of the others.

David will be a Goliath next year
and we'll still be Tottenham.
Can't wait.

Its important to talk about Winks because we got overpowered there plus there wasn't any form of control or battle centrally.
Who then should have played instead of Winks. What was the alternative. Would the outcone have been any different or would you find fault in someone else instead.

Made 0 tackles in 120 minutes of football as a CM against lower league opposition. He was also dribbled past 5 times. Perhaps that answers your question?
Didn't watch the match mate. You tell me haha sounds like he was dog shit tho

A mate messaged me last night, not much of a football fan (he's a Walsall fan ffs) and I think it's safe to say he hit the nail on the head.

Lot of factors behind this defeat . Conte(5) is used to managing good players and hasn't adapted to working with players at our level . Its a new world for him and he needs to introduce more pragmatism to his armoury imo . The Mourinho lite approach has been found out by opposing managers . Giving even low-level opposition their own half free to play in is ,as previously , giving them confidence...we're back to Dr Tottenham .

I remember a sorry moment when Boro were playing the ball out of their defence..PEH (5) was trying to organise a press on the hoof . He pointed to some Boro players to be marked...our forwards ambled in their general direction to no effect . You have to ask why is it not drilled into their brains the basics of a forward press , why is PEH trying to introduce it to them in the match ?

Our defence has a serious mistake or 3 in it every match ,its not something solid to rely on as we wait for counter attacking opportunities . Making the game difficult for opposition to play undermines them . its a shame our last 3 managers have played the counter game as we aren't equipped for it ...yet .

Not expecting much change , the return of committed players may mean an improvement of sorts ,but I'm expecting more of this sorrow til the season's end unfortunately.

Possibly but explain to me what he can achieve.
Isn’t that for him to decide?

I’m as frustrated as you mate but I think we should be a little more patient and wait for the summer window. Conte has proven himself to be a great manager but a manager that needs to spend. We were told he’ll be backed in the summer so let’s just wait until then.
If it helps just remember the 2 points from 8 games we now laugh at. ??

Of course it is by why stay here what is going to be achieved top four at an absolute push possibly.
No one is doubting Contes ability as a manager we all know what he is capable of.
As for being backed we can only hope although I remain not convinced that he will get what he really wants or needs I just don't trust the process.

So many players had disastrous evenings. Only really Dier came out of it with any credit.

Lloris - 6 - Not a massive amount to do.
Doherty - 5 - Was quite good first half. But showed his limitations in the final third with two dreadful attempts that had to hit the target.
Romero - 6 - Keeps losing men on set pieces and also needlessly got booked.
Dier - 7 - MOTM - Did what he had to do well.
Davies - 5 - Kept slipping over. Been happening a lot the last month. New boots needed?
Sessegnon - 5 - Just plays within himself too much. The senior pros did not set any kind of example though.
Winks - 2 - Did not win a tackle. Did not win a header. Dribbled past more than the rest of the team put together. Liability. And not good enough to play for us. Replace with White if Skipp and Bentancur are not fit.
Højbjerg - 4 - Dreadful in possession. Only avoids a 3 as he pressed and ran more than anyone else.
Kulusevski - 5 - Gave the ball away more than usual, but out best attacker on the night. One really good cross to pick our Sessegnon.
Son - 4 - Really pathetic performance. If he is tired do not play him. Bergwijn looked twice the player when he came on for a cameo.
Kane - 4 - Did not sprint once. Lumbered around losing the ball and was totally n their CB's pockets. Messed up a free kick. Don't moan about not winning trophies if this is how you play in a cup knockout match.

Subs:
Emerson - 3 - Just about as bad a player on the night as we had.
Reguilon - 5 - Did not influence the game at either end.
Bergwijn - 7 - Looked sharp and should start the next game over Son.

Conte - 5 - Limited by the players we have, but given all the noise about his meticulous planning and video reviews, how the hell can he still pick Winks?

I thought Conte was a great manager, a superb coach that gets the best out of players!!
Anyone else with his record would be toast by now. Still not as bad as losing to the lowest rank club in any European competition. Not as bad as giving up before a ball was kicked in the semifinal against Chelsea. Hopefully he has really lost his voice and discovers instead some coaching ability

The one thing I noticed was that all our players looked like they were running in mud. It looked like a very tired team especially after about the 70th minute.
