For me disappointed. Wing backs didn’t happen, the middle players struggled getting the ball played accurately. Forwards in most part didn’t find space. We got better as the game went on but it was never fluent. We showed a lot of effort which is good but we lacked quality which we need to find a way to win games such as this . Southampton were on top until the sending off. The ref decisions didn’t help but we shouldn’t have to rely on refs.

A point away at Southampton isn't the worst result. Yes, you'd want to win these games if you're going to be a top side. But reality is, we aren't yet.

We are clawing our way out of a beautiful cocoon and the butterfly I can see emerging is wonderously colourful, strong and tenacious.

From what I watched Winks and Kane were our best players, with Davies and Dier looking comfortable. Rest (bar Gil when he came on) treated the ball like a hot potato, which isn't really good enough when you are trying to shift 10 men across the park. Technical level of the likes of Hojbjerg, Emerson, Doherty, Dele, and Sanchez simply not good enough.
Sanchez had a better game than Dier, so don't let your bias blind you!

We were not poor. We weren't great, yeah, but those saying we didn't do enough to win the game are wrong: we did.

We scored 3 perfectly legitimate goals, it's just that two of them were unjustly disallowed.

I'm still fuming about it. Everyone should be because we were robbed.

Winks and Kane for me, both classy. Dele oh dear, how sad. No comeback after all, then. Liverpool was just one last hurrah for a player who is simply shot through.

Doherty is the worst player we've had for many years. I know some will argue he got into good positions and did a few good things etc, but it was against 10 men. And just simply no, he's terrible. Let's not beat around the bush. We need to sell or find a way to dispose of the body as soon as possible. Make him disappear.

Dele proved that he is done at our club. So slow and offers absolutely nothing. At best he's a top championship player.

Winks was by far our best player, 3 balls and 3 goals. Sanchez and kane were next best. Frustrating game. Saints going to 10 men actually made it harder they just put them behind ball. Should have 2 goals, can’t understand why they were disallowed. Ref was shite but for both teams

Just out of interest, how was the ref shite for them?

There were a number of occasions you could argue they had fouls not given. He was also very inconsistent with the way he played advantages

Pretty sure fans of all teams could find the odd foul they don't agree with.

But Southampton can't complain one little bit about yesterday. At no point did they have a perfectly legitimate goal ruled out, let a lone 2!
