Winks, Sanchez and Emerson absolutely must be dropped for the next match.
I can't even put in to words how desperately I want Skipp and Dier to be fit for Wolves. We're probaboly not going to score more than once against them, so a clean sheet is an absolute must.

I don’t understand how they aren’t higher in the table. They are clearly a better team than we are.

Kane and Son. I don't think people realise what a difference having these two up top do for us. Put them in the Southampton team and they'd be miles ahead of us. We have genuine elite quality up front, which teams like Southampton don't.

Well Conte (5) thought the team were fully committed he says .
I saw Soton players in plenty of space to play and I saw ours with very little . This surely has to do with running to close down spaces and press, or running to find space ....and this running is surely connected to the amount of commitment from the players .So I don't agree.

I also thought it a bit weird that in 1st half we were truly being barbecued , conceding endless chances...and Conte made no move to change what were emergency conditions til half time .Is he playing us too passively ?

Anyway poor old Emerson(3) must carry the can for the worst mistakes along with hot and cold Sanchez (4)
Maybe it was an optical illusion but Kulu (5) looks particularly slow. Romero (6) made some horrible passes to their forwards too .

We hate being pressed and seem to have little answer to it still .

Aggressive press and we crumble. Too many just not good enough footballers when they come under pressure, Davinson, Winks, PEH, Davies, Emerson - a sniff of pressure and these guys struggle to maintain possession or execute passes.

Right hand side was defence was abysmal, primarily Emerson but Sanchez was poor and breeds panic. Romero thought was decent but even he made a few errant passes. Reguilion decent first half and really should have finished what was a great run, was overrun in second half and didn’t get support to prevent crosses coming in too easily.

PEH couple of moments of quality but for most of the game him and Winks were largely irrelevant and the game passed them by.

Kane some quality, Son took his goals well and Moura had some top moments. But as a forward group really didn’t help with retaining possession and building any pressure.

Bentancur competent which is a high rating on the night, he does look so much more mobile than Winks and PEH. Kulu, no real impact.

Conte, we never came to terms with Southampton and didn’t look to change much up And bit surprised he didn’t bolster the midfield as we really Lost that battle. Individual errors cost us goals but shouldn’t mask the fact we were poor and a distant second on the night.

I think yesterday was a combination of a few things but mainly a few key players like Kane and Lucas not having a great day at the office. They both worked very hard but I could see they were both mis-controlling a few passes and getting the ball stuck under their feet. As a result we had problem progressing the ball from the backline into the front line and getting it to stick, over time the CBs started becoming more adventurous with their passing and fewer were finding the mark.

Lloris for me, only player to have a good game
Apart from the cross he came for and got nowhere near, and the cross before their second (or third?) goal that was floated to about four yards out that he didn't attempt to come for which we failed to clear and this led to a goal from the next cross.

Always tough to take these results but hopefully it means a positive reaction from the players who thought they just had to show up.

Starting with Sunday vs Wolves when we'll all be sucked back in again.

It really is a vicious circle.
