Yeah it's weird isn't it.
We must be interested. It makes 0 sense for us not to be. Everything about it makes sense.
I just wonder whether he has his heart set on another destination so any interest we had hasnt really got started.

Can's going to Juve, Jorginho to City, Fred at United, Keita and Fabinho to Pool, Savic to Barca?.... and so on.
Kov would go straight into our starting XI I would have thought. That seems to be his main gripe - about playing time.
If Rabiot/Veratti goes, then perhaps PSG are a destination.
Toby staying, and de Ligt to Juve - frees up £50m for Kov.

I could see it happening. We've been fairly low-key with our transfers in recent times. Of course a bit of wishful thinking on my part, but like someone else said it wouldn't make sense for us not to be interested. Obviously someone is going to be interested in signing him and there hasn't been any word about that. So whoever is interested has kept their interest under wraps. I could see us or Liverpool going for him (and alternative for Fekir for them), or maybe Chelsea (but I think we'd be a more attractive proposition at this moment in time). Outside the prem it would have to be Italy or maybe Bayern, but any team who would have more pull than us wouldn't be able to guarantee playing time in the way we would.

I've not seen any solid links in UK press as yet but I know we've been heavily linked in previous windows and I believe there was talk that we have bid in the past as well.
There is a historic interest in the player in much the same way as there has been with Martial.
Appreciate it's unlikely but a window of adding Kovacic and Martial would be heaven to me. I don't think it could get much better tbh.

Kovacic is a better option than Verratti imo, he seems ready to step up in his career and poised for a breakthrough season.
