I agree, there is no way that we would make these types of signings anymore. Wasn't there also ITK around the time of Bale that the perceived level of signings that we got with the bale money wouldn't be replicated any time soon? I can't see us going in for promising youth nowadays in the Eriksen or Lamela sold, let alone an established player like Kovacic.Kovacic for me would be an unbelievable signing! If the latest news is true of him wanting to leave indefinitely then there literally would be no reason why we wont be interested especially at that price.

Journeyman players like Jay Rodgriguez, Rondonand even our on Llorente and Sissoko or opportunistic signings of players who weren’t even rated that high by lots of people such as Toby, Wanyama etc. These were all signings where the opportunity came for us to sign on the cheap and have worked out well, they may have been a risk.
