Yep, not gonna happen. But I'd happily forgo all of Graelish, Martial, Zaha and anyone else for one top CM like Kovacic.

I think Kovacic is highly unlikely in this summer window and will stay at Madrid by close of the european window, however, if he doesn't play enough by January then there will be a legitimate shot at signing him then.
The reality is that Lopategui could rate him highly and play him regularly in which case he'd have no reason to leave. If it's the same as last season then the winter window will be perfect for him to make a move and Madrid wouldn't have any defence in trying to keep him.
I have to agree, unless the player forces out. Best chance here may be to hope for a moura situation in January, when other clubs are quiet and the player is more desperate to move.
