200 million spent right there.

With his suggestions implying a sale of Toby, Rose and Dembele, with likely departures of a few other fringe players, the money spent would have to be hitting 200m to be a decent net spend. Anything below net going into a new stadium is unacceptable in my opinion.

Don't disagree but I have a hard time believing we're spending 200mil this window.

Obviously going to depend on what we bring in through sales. I'd be astonished if we don't minimum spend what we earn. If Toby, Rose and Dembele were sold Levy is going get good money for them. Then you've got likes of Llorente, GKN, Janssen and Sissoko (surely) bringing in a chunk of money. Not sure I can see it but was talk of Aurier leaving with KWP being promoted.

Without Rose leaving I'd think in today's market you're looking at 150m to bring in a high quality CB, CM and attacker if those were our aims, if we need a new LB too it's going to need to be higher.

The only place Rose was ever going was United, and they are close to getting Sandro. Don't see him going anywhere which is a positive imo

I think Kovacic is better than Rabiot. He also isn't a jackass so thats a plus as well.
Here is newsflash for you, not every footballer who desires playing time and have some ambition on their own behalf is a jackass. It's not necessarily a good thing to have loads of footballers who love nothing more than to sit on the bench. Rabiot is the most perfect CM fit for a Pochettino team.

Our ITK have already mentioned how big a pain in the ass his mother/agent/their demands are. I don't think any player who wants more playing time is a jackass, but if a lot of people say he's a jackass, then he's probably a jackass. PSG fans talk all the time about his ego any time transfer rumors come up and his alleged refusal to play different positions in the midfield.

I don't think Walker or Toby are jackasses for the record, nor was Bale.

Yeah, his MUM is a pain – that doesn't automatically describe his personality. Unless I'm mistaken, his mum is not the person showing up to trainings or matches, so she can be however much pain she wants. It's the player that matters. Treat him fairly, and play him when he deserves to, and there is no fuzz. But to a certain degree, a player who does not accept being sidelined, that's a personality that we need if it can be channelised in a productive way.

When have we seen it work with Poch with a player who thinks he's way better/more important to the team than he really is?

I don't think Rabiot think he is too good for anybody. I think he is ambitious, and will thrive in a context where youthful ambition is honed and nurtured, not slaughtered and forgotten.

Not sure why you guys are getting so wound up over the quality difference between these two. They’re both accepted as top level young players with high ceilings and generally similar statistically, especially when you account for the difference in league quality — surely we’d be lucky to have either?

Bailey, de Ligt, Kovacic and Telles would be a great window.

Can't see it happening though.
