we dont appear to have a chance of anything better than taylor, he is a good player so i hope we do sign him, an improvement on tainio or steed.

a swap deal to get rid of ghaly, murphy would be great.

Not anymore. Petrov's at Man City.

An improvement on Teemu? Eek
He is one of our most reliable players. hard on the tackle and gets the odd goal.

And having seen Steed in pre-season I beg to differ regarding that case as well.

I would rather see us signing Romaric of Le Mans. Taylor is not worth £8mill. We can probably get Romaric for £4mill.....?

Signing Romaric would give us a very good left hand side. I would consider him as a cheaper version of Malouda. He has lot's of talent.

The only problem,SK, as I would imagine, is that Romaric would be one heck of a gamble for anything like £4mill if he was brought in to do a regualar job in a Champions League slot chasing Club. Le Mans isn't exactly a bedding ground for little undiscovered gems either so I think our £4mill would be better off spent closer to home or on someone with a decent European reputation.

I see Matt Taylor as the left hand side version of Gary Neville, He should have got more call ups to the England squad imo. I would welcome him and see if we can groom Bale to be our LM.

tainio is a good central midfileder who has done a bit of a job for us when we asked him to play out of position on the wings, if i had to rate him on his times on the wing it would never be more than 6/10. Taylor would be a regular 7/10, im not saying taylor is a better player, there probably equal but playing on the left midfield then taylor is better every time.

I want to us to do a bargain, and I believe Romaric will attract interest from bigger clubs in the future. I would gladly see us spend £4mill on him. We get £6mill for Mido.

He would give us just what we need on the left hand side of midfield.

Taylor's best positions are left wing back and left mid. He can play there but not as comfortable as the other 2 positions. I would be happy if he signs. Not an out and out wigner but would balance are midfield perfectly

no he was on the bench and davies wasnt even in the squad for west brom, possibly injured i dont know but taylor was on the bench. maybe reading too much into it but maybe they are "protecting their asset" newcastle style

Nice in theory but I don't think Pompey would go for that - they've shown no interest in either player & have signed strong players in CM (eg. Muntari) & CB (Distin) so probably won't want either.

Who else are we in for or going to get, realistically, for our left wing? Unless DC is coming up with some mystery man, I honestly think taylor is our best shot. He's left-footed, english, gets the odd goal and may alternate with bale for left back -left wing.

Dont think Taylor is the answer. Cant sign someone on the basis there only main quality is the odd spectacular goal.

would at least give us width but yeah i think we should probably aim for a higher quality player

i suppose there is no reason he couldnt develop with us into a top quality left player though i suppose
