Dude they just sold Kluivert (an attacking player) for like £17m - De Ligt and Tadic are completely unrelated transfers.

thanks for the lesson in logic. How much of the Sanchez money did they spend, anyone? Not just you. Or the money they got from Everton? Curious.

they most probably didn't have too as they know each year what players will be stepping up to the next level of their academy, and perhaps this season they just don't have the next Kluivert ready

good points. They also may be happy spending on Tadic because they have another bigger chunk of money coming in this summer. Not clutching, speculating...

Herc mentioned in the ITK thread that this deal was complicated. Any reason anyone could think that would be the case? Other than pretty simply Ajax just keep upping the price. Or maybe the part that Ajax want a loan back deal would be the complicated part.

I'm really torn on this. I think De Ligt + Martial is much better in the long run than Toby.. But keeping Toby makes us better in the meantime and it means ManU not having him. Plus the back 3 is back in play which we were dominant with this last season for a few months.

He hired Raiola, who takes huges slices of any transfer, as his agent.

Plenty of news sources. Eg:

I thought the reports were that Ajax was hiring Raiola to negotiate the potential transfers not that he was actually going to become these guys every day agent.

I don't read Dutch and don't trust googlish. I'm aware that the link below is derivative, not original, but I don't see why the club, Ajax, would hire Raiola.

But whatever, Raiola is not in it for the welfare of club or player. He's involved for filthy lucre.

Someone will have to pay whatever cut - 20% 30% 40% - he demands. And it won't be Ajax.

Juventus appear to have backed off, and so have we.

Welcome back Toby.

Ajax dont normally drop £10m on a player? They will be getting dough from Kluiverts sale I gather, but I reckon the Tadic buy means they've agreed to sell our man- but to us, or elsewhere? That's the £64m question...

Huh?

Yep, I bet the loan back is whats complicating this deal rather than there being a bunch of suitors. That and we haven't sorted out Toby yet.
think they're just bluffing with that loan option to get more $$.Hopefully thinks get clearer once Toby situation is resolved.

I also think the Raiola association is complicating things.

If Raiola is really a part of his management team or whatever expect him to push for a move almost yearly.

Seems like Barca are not going to get de Ligt...

Breaking ? | Sevilla FC has been informed that FC Barcelona has deposited the release clause amount of Clément Lenglet a couple of hours ago to La Liga.

Lenglet will be Blaugrana. #LengletAzulgrana

Wish we would have been more interested in this guy. We could have plugged future left CB and Fabian Ruiz for CM from Betis for the price of what Ajax are asking for De Ligt.
