i was listening to the report or so called report given by phil thompson on sky sports
his view was(remember this man has many years of playing managing and then commentating )that a draw was about right
poch "we should have won easily"
poyet"we was lucky"
the sunderland sixers which is the sunderland equivicol of spurs community
"how we drew that i will never know"
why oh why is thompson is always the analyser for spurs matches when he has always shown that he has a problem with giving us any kudos?

Adebayor was piss poor today, he looked lazy and lethargic, I think Sherwoods comments about Spurs needing another striker are going to haunt us as the season progresses.

I thought how it was funny that the Black Cat's players picked up no cards at all for the first 85 minutes. The challenges weren't any different later on yet they then qualified for the 5 yellows. Why weren't some given earlier? Would have had an entirely different bearing on the game!

That sort of referring annoys me, he lets it all go until its too late.

If he had been firing he would have had a hat trick and we would have won the game easily. He was poor in front of goal today, despite working hard at times.
Which is more often luck than effort.
@Jadon Benjamin suggested he was lazy and lethargic.
The chaps on BBC said "some spurs fans advise Adebeyor of being lazy but in reality, he puts ing a good shift for the team, he looks fitter today than he did last season too"

Not scoring and being lazy are two very different things.

He kept turning the wrong bloody way... Turned right into the man twice(IN THE BOX)in 5 minutes in last 10 of the match. Chances top quality strikers would at least get a shot away.

I watched the game live in the pub. Sunderland stats .....1 shot on target, 2 goals.... you couldn't make it up :banghead:
I thought we played some good football, on most days we would of got the win.
Poch been unlucky thus far with injuries, every game we have a different back 4.
Lots of positives. Despite being kicked all over the park I enjoyed watching Lamela.
If we play like that, and get a little more luck, we will comfortably beat West Brom! :D

Ade had 2 good chances when just 7 yards out and instead of hitting it with his left he pulled it back to try and get it on his right. 7 ydz ffs and ended up on his arse both occasions. Very frustrating. Put in a shift though so have to disagree there.
Ref was poor with cards. Bloody Larson just ran aroung fouling people for 10 min and was pulled up about 4 times in as many min. Nothing.
Still we defended piss poor again and just dont shoot enough when in or around the box imo.
Any high ball coming in our area and we look like school kids.
Ho hum :(

This is why I think Fazio could prove to be a very good acquisition to partner Vertonghen as his height will be a big advantage when defending set pieces

Adebayor did put in a good shift, but should have been substituted ten minutes before he did. His performance was mared of ten minutes of being so tired that he couldn't stand when he got the ball, and lacked the energy to press.

Adebayor standing still two metres away from O'Shea when the latter got all the time in the world to control a wobbly and difficult ball in the Sunderland six-yard-box looked infuriating at the time, but he was just spent.

If we're going to play a high pressing game then maybe Poch does need to be more proactive with the subs to keep things fresh. I thought that Lennon could have been introduced earlier for his pace on the counter attack, but who knows if that would have changed anything.

Anyway both Arsenal and Pool failed to win at home so not the worst point in the world, just a bit frustrating as it should have been 3.

Have to agree, seemed a little strange to me also, with a few Yellows there may have been a chance to put their players under more pressure. (BTW Hello Longtimespur, see you have moved over from VS)
