Poch getting criticized already.

"L'Equipe believe new manager Pochettino is trying and failing to copy his hero Marcelo Bielsa."

He has come out and said its going to be difficult to win the league this season, which I don't think the owners want to hear.

Probably thinks he's still managing Spurs.

It certainly doesn't help if you lose at home to Lille with the best squad in the country, but they are still very much in the race.

Will be interesting to see what they can do against Bayern over two legs. No title and no CL and it's probably goodbye for Poch in the summer.

Can't be saying that with the team he has, it's a bottling mentality.

If he's saying that in public imagine what he's telling the players, he did the same thing with us after the Burnley match.

He needs to learn.

I thought the point of him going to France was to put his mistakes right before he makes his triumphant return to us.

I think it's going to end up being the case that he and us was a case of "right place, right time".

Spot on. Young talented players willing to learn and grow. Beyond that (improving young talent players) what exactly has Poch shown he is good at ?

Poch was talking a lot of nonsense before the CL Final iirc.

Communication doesn't seem to be his strong suit.

I think it's going to end up being the case that he and us was a case of "right place, right time".

For all his achievements with us (and no one should take away those), there were always questions over how good Poch actually was as a manager, considering the players he had available.

I think many pundits and fans outside of Spurs saw a mid-table side punching above their weight. And Poch was lauded for it.

But really, we had a very good XI with arguably the best defence in Europe at the time and arguably the best centre forward in the world, with Dembele and Eriksen running things in the centre.

There's the case to be made that we should have won something and that Poch just didn't have that extra '5%' to get us over the line.

Of course there are other factors to consider; the stadium upheaval being front and centre, and also underperformance in transfer windows.

I suppose time will tell how Poch's career goes. But he should be winning L1 this season, with the squad he has at his disposal.

3 points behind with 7 games to go. He surely has to win the title at the minimum.

Oh well, PSG will just miss out on the title and will be bowing out of the CL fairly soon then

Very much so. I and many others thought he under performed with the squad he had and we would look back in history as the golden generation than never won anything.

Of course many disagreed, but as time goes on I think it's more evident he did.

We lost so many big key games under him, to never win a single trophy with that squad was criminal.

We had peak Rose, Walker, Lloris, Verts, Toby, Dembele, Kane, Son, Eriksen, etc

I asked Skybet if they had odds on a bet - Poch to leave PSG before Jose leaves Spurs.
Sadly they didn't.

He had a tendency to gamble in the big games, which backfired more often than not. Son at LWB vs. Chelsea as the obvious example, rushing Kane back for the CL final (and benching the man who got us there) as another, and he did it in league games against the big 6 too. I have a feeling that he wanted to show that he had that extra 5 %, and that it ended up being his undoing (although a lot of factors were at play towards the end).

I hope he does well at PSG, and I hope he comes back to us as a successful manager, because his time here was magical, and I'd like some more of that. But I don't see sacking him as a mistake, even with the benefit of hindsight, and I'm fairly confident that we'd be even worse off if he was still here.

Ah yes, I remember reading alot about how he was underperforming with our squad and how much more a manager like Mourinho would get out of us.

But I don't hear that argument much any more.

I think this is a bit harsh.

Personally I think we never truly peaked as high as we could have because just us as we were about to, we moved to Wembley.

Had we had at least one more season at WHL I think we would have done much better. Moving to Wembley knocked us out of our stride and I don't think we were ever as consistently good again. We became much more patchy.

There was other stuff too, like the transferless transfer windows and the decline of Dembele. But moving to Webley along with the sale of Walker that summer marked the beginning of our decline IMO.

Beat Bayern 3-2 away from home.
After a magical display by Navas - I mean 11 or 12 shots on target. The game was very one way traffic and I still fancy Bayern to go through. It was like watching Spurs but with the end result. How many times will you have 4 shots on target and score 3, while concededing only 2 after 12 shots on target against? And good ones too. It's a bit of a freak result really.
PSG were not convicning at all.
