Loads of 1970's and 1980's football on Eir1 and 2 (I think that's the channels names)

Eir Sport... It's via Sky Sport bundle over here. I don't even bother with a TV anymore over here in ROI - I get everything I need via laptop including all the matches I want.

We only get satellite broadband which is weather dependent, any sign of a storm and it goes tits up, I heard from National Broadband Ireland last week they anticipate fibre broadband connection to my place between July and December 2022 ffs.

An old girl about 400m up the land has fibre - but the tight bastards won't run it down here where there is only 6 properties.

This one comes courtesy of Drakey on FTL. Apologies if posted before. Some wonderful footage from 70 years ago in a Cup tie.

The 1978 World Cup saw some fantastic goals. If my memory serves me correctly, the games were live on the BBC but the kick off times were late into the night, gone midnight for some of them........that hasn't happened much since, maybe Korea

Plus those of us who remember, there were some great players involved. Bettega, Rumminigge, Rep etc

It's a two part clip, the second follows on automatically.

Look out for Arie Haan's long range goal and Cubillas scoring a couple of that effectively knocked Scotland out, "Ally's Army" really thought they would win it too :D

Only just found this thread. This is basically the reason I've spent the last 20 years living in Buenos Aires. My first memory of football. Awesome tournament. My father-in-law was offered a ticket for the final but turned it down because he felt it would be supporting the military junta. A better man than me!

no co-ax cable? my wife decided to switch to fibre without telling me but it became my project. I cant tell any difference. Yes you can get 300-400 MBPS download if you're a few feet from the modem but in reality its still 30-40 throughout the house after going through the repeaters.
