After seeing England's U21s get humiliated tonight by a very very good German side, I'd love to see Harry go in with bids for Ozil and Castro, two players who I'm sure would do well in the EPL. Ozil especially.

Ok, I can dream, can't I.

I wasn't overly impressed with either of them tbh, we made them look good.

Bringing Mancienne on was foolish, and the young goalie was terrible. I can't see either of them making a huge impact on our first team/squad.

* (But then again ive only seen them play twice.. but still i think we should opt for some more experienced players..)

I realize this will be moved, so.....

Castro is a decent right sided player. Where exactly do you plan on sticking him? We have Lennon and Bentley for the RM role. We have Corluka and Hutton for the RB, where he plays at Leverkusen. He's a good player, but we just don't need him.

Oezil. Looks great doesn't he? He's also a kid and I've seen him have shocking performances at Schalke and Werder. In fact, his performance in the UEFA Cup final, aside from scuffed opportunity was non-existent. He needs one to two more years at Werder before he's ready to venture into bigger waters. He's just spent a year and half unter the tuttelage of Diego basically. He needs to take the time to grow into the role as the leader of the attack. He could do that at the U21's but he's not ready to do that outside of Germany. Many Werder supporters are wondering if he will be ready by August for them.

Don't get me wrong, he's going to be a star, but not if he ups and moves out from under Schaaf after a good under tournament. He needs a few more years to develop and then England might come calling, but I'd think he'd be better off in Spain.

and if you don't have the characters mapping for an umlaut, the ö becomes an oe. Gotta nasty comment on that once.

Yeah, this is a Gen Footy discussion as no links to these players.

Sound like they had good tournaments and Harry loves a risk, so you never know, but would hope and assume that we're still looking for the finished article.

I wouldn't get too carried away with how players perform in the Euro U-21s. I remember Babel and Drenthe impressing just as much, if not more, in the last one. Although it does appear that we might have signed the wrong Boeteng.
