Surely having been omitted from the squad he must be off?

With the way the defense played on Saturday i can't see him fitting in very well. Looks like those who thought he was going to be made captain were way off the mark.

Shame as i think he's a top bloke, but AVB seems to think he won't suit our new style of play it seems.

mrgh He must have a transfer in the works... they wouldn't ostracize him, what would be the point?

Anyhow, people are going overboard saying he couldn't play in our team now. He'd do just fine as he always does, he may be naturally dropping down the pecking order, but he's not a donkey and he's not being asked to do rocket science.

I really hope this isn't the case.
It could be that since he's been off injured for a while he's simply not fit enough yet.
Correct me if i'm wrong but before he got injured he wasn't doing much worng, IMO he was playing really well - hell he'd made the England squad.
I can't see him not being given a fair chance by AVB to prove himself.

Top bloke!!

Agree he's a top bloke, but i can't see him fitting into AVB's style of play, especially having watched the game at the weekend.

I think AVB must have watched him in pre-season and decided he wasn't up to it - can't see any other reason why he would have been omitted from the squad on Saturday?

I see what you're saying and agree that he may well leave, but he may very well be "up to it", just not as much as the 3 that were in the squad on Saturday. If he wants to stay as a squad member I'm sure we'd all be fine with that, but if he feels he wants to be first choice I think we'd all also agree that he needs to move on.

Fulham?

Akqa tweeted that the rumour about Daws being left out due to a bereavement was accurate.

edit:

@matthewgoulborn: Did I hear Dawson didn't travel because of a bereavement? @akqayid #thfc” Yeah that's right

@LeeClayton_: Spurs have agreed a fee with QPR for Michael Dawson. Close to £10million, subject to medical and personal terms. Good signing for QPR.

Think he's a daily mail journo!

That's good money!

Talksport are reporting Micheal Dawson is on his way to QPR for 5.5 million. Seems we are selling him on the cheap. What does everbody else think ? Don't think we should be selling him IMO

Daily Fail are saying £10m, which sounds more likely given his reputation & experience. That said, the injuries might have knocked a few quid off.

Doesn't "seem" that way to me, in fact the only thing that it "seems" to me is that its from Talkshite and therefore to be totally and completely disregarded for now.

As for whether he will or won't, should or shouldn't be sold, well that debate has been rumbling on elsewhere on the forum today. On one side you have the "he is Spurs through and through" camp and the "he can't play AVB's style of football" camp....personally, I'm in a different camp altogether. I agree that he is not well suited to AVB's style, has the turning circle of a small country, etc. But I think we should keep him at least until January for backup, by which time we will have a better idea if Caulker is up to the task, if Vert has settled in, and Kaboom's knee looks like it will hold out. Also not forgetting the fact that I hope AVB will take the Europa seriously and that we will do well in it, then there will be a definite need to ratate.

He was an international only a year ago. Daws is a very good player and we might regret letting him go if we do. Probably be happy to fight for his place as well.

Will be very disappointed if we let him leave.
