QPR? he is better than that, if it is 5.5 million then I think United should have a punt even, they aren't really overstocked with quality Centre backs right now

Maybe they have offered £5.5m but I really hope we haven't accepted it. Before his injury he was a great player and was instrumental in one of our best seasons for many a year. He always gives 100%, and is Tottenham through and through. Maybe he isn't the quickest, but I feel he is well worth keeping and could be an important squad member. There are many games in a season, especially with the Europa looming, and we need a good steady player as back up, and for these games. Who knows, he could even regain the form that made him first choice. Keeping him is a win/win for me.

Seeing as this is a transfer rumour it should be discussed in the transfer rumour forum...

Is it win win for Daws himself though? Does he, at 28 and an established EPL player want to sit behind Kaboul and Verthongen and occasionally get whisked into action with an unusually high line for him to cope with?

I admire Daws a lot, seems like a top bloke with a great attitude and has played his part in some great times for us, it may sound ruthless but we have outgrown the guy and I think it will be best for him to move on and endear himself to another set of fans, and always come back to a great WHL reception.

£10 mill for Dawson!! Wow! If that is true, it is great for us. Fantastic!

We can buy Willian for the Dawson money, then :).

I know, I know, we should spend the money on an up and coming French/African. Because they are exciting prospects, any suggestions?

I really like Daws and ideally there would be a place for him, but if he doesn't fit the system then its no good for him or us to hang on to him, let him go and play. That means we can give more time to caulker, free up a squad place, get an un-needed player of the wage bill, and add to our transfer budget. In an ideal world the most likeable players would be the best but unfortunately it does not work like that, Dawson is to slow and to limited and if he doesnt get game time his value will only decrease. It's not nice but we are moving on, hopefully to bigger and better things.

Not HAPPY at all about Dawson leaving! In fact, I'm rather gutted. Love the guy and thought he would be one of those that would end his playing days with us...... :(

I agree with the sentiment... but there's no way Willian comes for £10m. Useful funds towards a transfer of his ilk, though.

That's another question of course SS. I guess it depends on whether he feels he could still win something with Tottenham, whilst playing a bit part, whether he feels he can become first choice again, or whether he wants regular football, and is prepared to go to a lesser club with less chance of winning anything. If he's happy to stay knowing he's not first choice, I'd be very happy to keep him.

Well if Daws is to leave I wish him all the best and thank him for giving his all everytime he wore the lily white shirt. I would be sad to see him go, as I would with Hudd. But in AVB we trust, I guess..

If its true that Micky D is on his way, I'd just like to wish him all the best. As has been said, he mightn't of been the most gifted player to grace WHL but he definitely always gave his all, everytime he represented our great club. Hope he goes to a decent club and has a long premiership career.

We can always buy him back in a year or two when QPR goes into administration. LOL, they're blowing money left and right, if they get relegated it's over for them.

I love Michael Dawson and would love for him to stay. Watching him play for another PL team will be so strange.

I can understand the need to ship him out if the offer is good enough, and if he doesn't fit the system we are going to play I'm sure he'd rather go somewhere else to get games.. And if it's 10 million then it would make no sense not to sell..

But I don't like it anyway.

just because we might have accepted doesn't mean he will, could just say no thank you, I would rather fight for my place here.
Gallas wont last the season unfortunately, which leaves 1 proven CB in Kaboul if Dawson isnt around

Qpr aren't going to pay ten million for Dawson. It is absolutely ridiculous to be selling him. Fine defender should be allowed fight for his place.
