Been listening to this twat on talksport for the past number of months and it's an absolute joke what he's coming off with "Spurs aren't capable of winning the league as I haven't seen enough of them this season to convince me". I bet he watched us dismantle the bindippers 4-0 earlier this season. What gets me even more is that he's convinced pisspool are on course for a CL spot??? :duh:

Don't get wound up by him tbh mate. Firstly I would question why you are even listening to talkshite, but secondly they go out of their way to get the biggest ****s possible in order to get people to ring in. Let's just wait to the end of the season and see what happens.

He also said Pool would win the league this year at the beginning of the season. You have to remember he's deluded on two fronts as he was a Newcastle player along with playing at Liverpool.

I think in fairness you only have to look at our goal difference to see that we are arguably a step behind the Mancs, and therefore, along with less experience and arguably a weaker squad, we have to be considered serous outsiders.

But we aren't far away on points. I'm sure there will be plenty of people like him who'd like to write us off. I don't care personally - I don't follow football for anyone's interest apart from my own. Lawrenson, Quinn, Hansen et al. can write us off as often as they like. I can't see it affecting our performances in any way, and if it makes them look like twats all the better for it.

I don't like Liverpool. They're the first to label others as 'joke clubs', and yet IMO are arguably the worst in the league as the Suarez situation shows. So I'd absolutely love it if all that money they spent counted for absolutely nothing - if they keep failing to qualify for the CL they'll start to really feel the pinch, which would be brilliant.

If we finish in the top 4 this season I'll be absolutely over the moon. Anything better than that would be a big bonus. That's my main focus, not what some bell end who used to play sees through his own biased eyes.

Like most Liverpool fans he has a deluded opinion of his own teams potential and theres no talking that out of him. As a personality, he seems to be all mouth and relying on his 'scouse' to score some comedy points but he's not very funny at all.

I don't rate him as any kind of pundit at all but when he says he doesn't see us in with a shout for the title I won't argue with it. It doesn't get to me one bit because I can see it from his point of view. If we take away our own spurs bias we'd pick up on the fact that we have 'destroyed' very few teams this season. The bindippers game was our best of the season in my opinion but the scoreline flattered us because of the two sendings off.

I think there are many things that can still go wrong for us this season and I'm still not sure we have the know-how as a team to jump every hurdle like ManU do. We're still hit-and-miss when it comes to goalscoring and Adebayor has not impressed me with his shooting (although his contribution to our build up play has reinvented us). We haven't played without Adebayor in the team either so not sure if we would revert to last seasons goal drought if he was to get injured.

We'll see of course but 'outsiders' is the correct word to describe us.

Anyway, lets get 3 more pts tonight while we're still debating it :hump:

Micky Quinn said he was 100% certain spurs wouldnt qualify for the champions league 2 seasons ago. We proved him wrong.

Andrian Durham, now this guy irritates me. But the way he lays into Arsenal makes me laugh. Last night he started off his show with
"thierry Henry, SO WHAT!"
loved it.

Goal difference is a pretty poor measure of a team though. Looking at the last 5 league games...

Man U: GD +8, Pts 9
Spurs: GD +4, Pts 11

So who is the better team?

Man U won the league last year with a GD of +41. City are on +40 after 20 games this year.

Goal difference will generally give a general indication of where you might finish in the league but it doesn't really prove any worth in my opinion. Makes me cringe when people say we should go full throttle to beat teams 6-0 just to improve our GD.

I used to hate Mr Durham but he is growing on me lately. He loves Spurs at the moment and hates Arsenal.

Durham is just a wind up merchant and clearly doesn't understand the game (Scholes topic the other night) but the way he winds up Arsenal fans is priceless.

Also i was just listening to Mickey Quinn and for once i thought he was being quite nice about spurs compared to his usual standards.

Micky Quinn is suffering after years and years of pie abuse.

Either.....

a) he's a wum

Or

b) he just another deluded, bitter, fat scouser.

They're all wind-up merchants, and Durham doesn't even try to cover it up. I love the way he literally will come out with a different club each day, say something insulting about them and wait for the calls (and £££) to roll in.

And some mugs actually ring up and start trying to debate with him!

i dont listen it to really but i did this morning on my way to work, and one of them (i dont know who they are) was going on about how he thought we were better than united and real title contenders and could see us winning the title if we beat city at the end of the month:shrug:

Yeah, I think there's something to the idea that early season goal difference provides a reasonable indication of where teams will finish. Looking at the league after say ten games, I reckon goal difference might be a better indicator than points. Would interested to see some stats on that.

I enjoy Talksport... I think its fun. Yes, they make comments to encourage phone calls, I guess they make money out of it.

But some of the pundits on there are good to listen too.

Durham makes me laugh and I think is actually quite good. Brazil is an ex Spur. Moose is funny, even if he is a wet spam fan... You even get some good debates onthere at times. However, some of the pundits are as biased as they can be.

Credit to Ray Parlour though, for an ex gooner he is surprisingly fair about us!
