Really? He has no output but he is comfortable enough in transition. He obviously couldn’t do what Porro does (who could honestly?) but I think he’s more suited to Ange fullback than he was conte wingback. He couldn’t cross or have the pace to be the wide threat as a wing back but he can defend, has good spacial awareness and does ok passing. He looked decent in the opening game in that role.

Definitely not the perfect replacement but don’t know that there are many out there that could do better and be a reasonable backup center back too.
I’m just not sure if we really want to push on that being an ‘ok passer’ will be good enough for the RB role. I think there’s other players we could get who are much better on the ball BUT I completely admit it would be risky as they could be shite defensively, which Emerson isn’t. As I said, I really like Emerson and think he’s a great player to have in the squad, just not sure he will be right for this team in the long-term.

8.5 window so far. Moving forward, a deal for a Nusa/Soule type player with a loan back would be fantastic. Other than that it would be 1 in 1 out. Of course, if somebody wanted to slap a wad on the table for Ndombele or Tanganga I guess I could cope with it.

I had assumed Scarlett was back because Veliz is injured.

And he wasn't really doing the business at Ipswich was he?
Was barely getting a look in at Ipswich. Deal was cancelled because it wasn’t beneficial. I’d imagine he’d have been loaned back out elsewhere if we weren’t missing Veliz and Son right now.

He's been registered for us and Ipswich so couldn't be loaned back out (cant be registered for more than 2 clubs a season). It was either sit on their bench or sit on ours and give him the odd minutes

Good window so far, any window that ends with replacing PEH is good for me. No hate for the person but not a fan of his style of play.

Gallagher or similar for the home grown would be great, would also be keen on more promising youth of available.

But was he registered for us before the Veliz injury? I thought Veliz was hurt before Dane was back (or was the registration before the move to Ipswich?)

We must be pretty close to the loan limit, as in how many of our players we can loan out?
8, but to the best of my knowledge players who were under 21 at the start of the season don't count - which is good as we have 10 players out on loan right now (Ndombele, Tanganga, Devine, Parrott, Rodon, Keeley, Phillips, Craig, Spence, Dier) but only the players in bold are/were over 21 so we could loan out Perisic and Hojbjerg, say, if that was a way of clearing space and freeing up wages.

Isn't Scarlet injured as well? I thought I read that he had done his hamstring in training.

This might be the first time in about 10 xfer windows we don’t have a glaring hole and a desperate need for a player in a particular spot still outstanding. It’s an amazing feeling.

Sure we’re a touch short until the dumb tournaments are over, but to be at the point where we can be purely opportunistic for the next two weeks is phenomenal

I'd say you don't want to bringing in more than 3 during a winter window as thats a lot of adaptation whilst the season is ongoing.

But If we were able to get ahead of the queue and bring in some talented players, then loan back, then that would make the summer a smoother window too.

I am guessing the "50/50" player is rated this cause it depends on Hojbjerg going

I’m pleased with our business but I’ve been a spurs fan too long. “Winning the transfer window” is worth the same amount of points as calling your dog “win”.

I think where we finish this year depends more on getting people back and minimising future suspensions and injuries than Timo or dragon hitting the ground running.

The future is looking very bright. I’m more than happy with what we got. Wouldn’t hurt to see a few exits.

This is very accurate. Great business so far. Addressing two immediate needs. One was long term, the other short, but if they light it up, then it will look like an absolute steal.

The PL campaign for all teams has been a little strange. It may just be my imagination, but it feels like there has been far more injuries this season across all teams. And a massive increase in red cards.

Used to be rare that you’d see more than one red card over weekend fixtures. Now, I feel like there is a min of two per game week. (But that’s a whole other discussion).

Our final spot in the table will all come down to injuries and suspensions. I get the feeling it will be a running theme all season. Ange will likely go into every match with at least 4 or 5 out through injury, suspension, international duty.

That is the main reason Villa are doing so well. No Europe. Hardly any injuries. I would not bet against them banking a top 4 spot.

Outs:
PEH
Gil
Perisic
Reggie

Ins:
Vermeeren
Lloyd Kelly
Nusa (Buy and Loan back)
So in the first two weeks of the window there have been 9 transfers (excluding loans) in the entire premier League and only 1 over 5mil (Dragusin).

But we want to shift or bring in 7 in the remainder at Spurs alone?

Even allowing for a few of the outgoings to be loans that is totally unrealistic.

I mean as a dream sceneraio I'd love the above too but if we are dreaming I may as well list Haaland

He’s injured until the end of February, so best leaving this one until the summer 👍

Extremely good if the window shuts now, could be exceptionally good by 31st Jan.

The squad is looking in great shape now and summer could hopefully be just 2 or 3 in but real top quality.

Out would be
PEH
Reguilón
GLC
Ndombele

With possibly Richarlison if we can replace with better.
Ideal world, Werner turns out to be inspired.
All this means summer is tweaking rather than major upheaval.

That would be pretty spectacular given the state we were in at the end of last season.

We've shifted Dier, Phillips, Sanchez (and Spence) from our defence and only replaced them with Dragu, surely Kelly or some one similar needs to happen.
All players shifted are players that never played anyway and never would.
Even when we lost our whole back line the manager preferred to play people out of position rather than use them so why must you replace that which you never use ? 🤔
