Seems like Inter do not want to compromise and are being difficult. They want the full fee, and will just keep pissing you around until you offer it. Given the current climate, it is a risk, is it one we need to take though? I imagine that is what is going through Levy's mind.

I guess at least we know there's an deal we can accept to do on deadline day should we decide we need him.

Don't think this is anything new after the ITK that has filtered through today. Clearly at loggerheads and will probably run on for a few days, before we definitively know if it's completely off

This will come down to whether Inter are bluffing or not regarding the fee - from our recent ITK, I'm certain we won't pay what they're asking for, so it'll either go down to the wire, or we'll move onto another target.

Wouldn't call Inter difficult for not budging on their prices

"Deal stalling" :(

Deal stalling doesn't mean off, means we've reached the impasse point where neither side are budging and it's now who blinks first. Plus always seems like Romano's links to clubs in Italy is as much as a mouthpiece for their boards as anything, so could just be parroting Inter's lines.

Just stay chill, it's tricky, it's last minute, and it's Daniel's favourite kind of deal. He's backed Jose this much, bet he'll love going all the way and receiving the (rightly deserved) plaudits that the football world and fans will throw his way.

Pretty simple if we pay the money he'll come.

It's just whether Levy sees it as a financial risk worth taking. If he gets us into the top 4, then spending that money will seem like a bargain.

Given that we've tried I'll be extremely disappointed if we don't get him.

I just think out of all the player he'd be the biggest game changer. Him amd Bale of course.

With Vinicius in we need to shift Non HG aside from Foyth.

I am even struggling to see who we realistically can get out now without shooting in our own feet like sending Gazza or Serge away who could provide important cover.

Don't know how relevant it is, but Fab tweet this earlier

Could be a case of us both needing to sort incomings/outgoings before we're both ready to pull the trigger. If they take on Alonso's loan in a fee + wages deal, and sign Darmian, and go for another CB, they'll need to shift Skriniar. And Levy knows it too I'm sure.

Being optimistic, I think our reported interest this morning in Rudiger is in response to the interview Piero Ausilio put out yesterday basically saying Skriniar is part of the project and would not be leaving. It's all brinkmanship.

Very evidently, Skriniar is not favoured by Conte whatsoever and, whilst transfers are complicated beasts, the fact they met us face to face suggests they are willing to do a deal. By flying in the face of that and saying the player is not for sale and is part of the project, Ausilio is just trying to protect Skriniar's value. It's a bad negotiating tactic to ask for an extortionate fee for something unwanted. By many accounts, Inter need the money. Regardless of what they say in public.

Tottenham in turn have responded by very publicly approaching Chelsea for a player who 1) probably has no intention of joining us and 2) would be incredibly unpopular with a large section of the fans. The transfer just wouldn't make sense and thats why I think that Spurs are essentially demonstrating to Inter that Skriniar is not their only choice here whereas Spurs seem to be the only club willing to take Skriniar off their hands.

We just have to see who blinks first. We've heard countless times that we are £10m short but also that no bid has been formally made. I imagine it will be a very different scenario for Inter Milan when an offer of circa. £40m arrives their end.

I'm still pretty confident tbh.

Yeah I’m pretty relaxed about this. The Eriksen transfer seemed to take an age to get done. If it is true they want the cash for another player then they’ll hopefully deal.

One thing that hasn’t been mentioned is the changing of the transfer window to align with the other countries again. It is in our favour now (or level pegging), when last year it would of been in Inter or other European clubs.

think we’d be ok in EPL assuming Foyth and Gazza are gone.

if Gedson is considered u21, we’d be ok in Europa too with that.

Skriniar/Rudiger would both present same issue.

We're only an injury and a suspension away from disaster - do not think Tanganga is ready for a run of games at CB in a 4-4-2. I see him playing at FB as much as a CB as he develops over the next 2 years

If the club believe in him they need to give him opportunities. If he’s 5th choice centreback and 3rd choice right back that’s not really going to happen here.

News from Sports Mediaset off a new bid of 44m + bonuses gone in. Isn't on their website yet as it was a TV broadcast but don't think they're that reliable (according to the sacrosanct tier system) so hopefully, if true, it filters through to some other outlets *fingers crossed*

I'd have his as second choice RB and recoup money on Aurier.
